  6. A utility to keep your MAX.LOG file trimmed down to a specific
  7. number of days for DOS and OS/2!

  9. Syntax: MaxLog <# of days> <Squish or Max log file name>

  12. DUE TO MAXTOOLS SUGGESTIONS

  14. I had originally released a package of 16 utilities for Maximus SysOps
  15. called MaxTools. (Full MaxTools 1.03 documentation included)
  16. MaxLog was one of those utilities.  MaxTools was a great success and I 
  17. listened to ideas, complaints and suggestions.

  21. 1. Let me know when you release and OS/2 version
  22. 2. $20 registration fee is to high if I just want to use only 1 or 2 utilities.

  25. MY ANSWER TO THESE SUGGESTIONS

  27. 1. MaxLog as an experiment was re-written for OS/2 and DOS
  28. 2. The registration fee for MaxLog standalone for DOS and OS/2 is 
  29.    only $1.00. If you like it, I'll consider doing more this way.

  38.   Within the MAXLOG.LZH file are 3 files:

  40.   MAXLOG.XT  - MaxLog.EXE for XT machines under DOS
  41.   MAXLOG.AT  - MaxLog.EXE for (AT machines ONLY) under DOS
  42.   MAXLOG.OS2 - MaxLog.EXE for AT machines ONLY under OS2 2.0 or greater

  44.   Just rename the appropriate file to MaxLog.EXE and type 
  45.   "MaxLog" by itself for complete instructions.

  47. - MaxTools.Doc contains documentation for ALL of the MaxTools
  48.   including MaxLog with some minor exceptions:
  49.  
  50.   1. No environment variable is needed or used
  51.   2. Logging to MaxTools.Log is not supported or necessary. 
  52.   3. MaxLog does not exit with error levels
  53.  
  54.   NOTE: The above 3 items were omitted mainly because I felt they
  55.         were not important and allowed me to greatly speed up the
  56.         performance and lessen the final executable size.
