  1. To all those who answered the call for Labtest Beta Testers - Thank you!
  2. I was overwhelmed by the number of sysops who are interested in testing
  3. Labtest.  Currently, Labtest's features are:

  5. For Remote Access 2.00:
  6.  
  7.     ■ Unpacks user's uploads for scanning/testing/conversion
  8.     ■ Scans archives for viruses
  9.     ■ Read's GIF file headers and inserts resolution into RA 2.00 file database
  10.     ■ Reads FILE_ID.DIZ files from archive and inserts them into the
  11.       Remote Access 2.00g1+ file database system.
  12.     ■ Fully user-configurable, up to six archive programs can be defined.
  13.     ■ When used in Local Mode, can process multiple directories with
  14.       wildcards
  15.     ■ With special file stamping feature, 'remembers' which files
  16.       have already been processed to avoid repetitive processing (Can be
  17.       overridden via command line switch)
  18.     ■ Keeps detailed log of all activities.  FD log format supported.
  19.     ■ Graphical caller interface keeps the user online informed of
  20.       processing status.
  21.     ■ Auto-search feature matches the subdirectory being processed with
  22.       FILES.RA to locate the correct file database, if a match is not
  23.       found, will create a FILES.BBS file as an alternative.

  25. For Remote Access 1.11:

  27.     ■ Exutes a user-defined batch file after processing each file
  28.       Especially useful for updating all files lists.
  29.     ■ Updates FILES.BBS file to reflect converted file name
  30.     ■ Inserts GIF resolution into FILES.BBS comments.
  31.     ■ Reads a FILE_ID.DIZ file (if found in the archive) and replaces
  32.       user comments with the DIZ file.
  33.     ■ Plus all of the non-RA 2.00 features listed above.

  35. For Wildcat 3.x:

  37.     ■ Writes WCFILES compatible FILES.BBS file in the specified
  38.       directory, which will then be imported into the allfiles.dat file.
  39.     ■ Writes Wildcat SCANFILE.BAD semiphore file when a bad archive is
  40.       suspected.
  41.     ■ Reads DOOR.SYS door information file
  42.     ■ GIF file resolution and FILE_ID.DIZ supported the same as RA.

  44. For all systems:

  46.     ■ Low memory requirement - will run easily with VirusScan v105.
  47.     ■ Reads all major door information file formats
  48.     ■ User-defined archives, multi node settings, scan utility, file
  49.       paths, log file and more
  50.     ■ Process entire subdirectories in local mode
  51.     ■ Graphical display keeps user informed of progress

  58. provide free updates to registered users of Labtest via the support BBS.
  59. If updates are requested via the postal system, you, the user will pay
  60. the shipping fees.  Normally, for mail within the united states this be
  61. $1.00 for first class mail.  Overseas and Canadian orders may be handled
  62. through the appropriate overseas registration sites.  Currently, plans
  63. are underway for registration sites in Canada, Brazil, and Europe.
  64. Australian and Asian registration sites are still being sought.

  66. Software Solutions will not be held liable for any damages done to any
  67. files, hardware or software, through the direct or indirect use of
  68. Labtest.  Prudence pays and backup is the rule of thumb.
