  23.     IceChat is a split screen chat utility for Remote Access BBS's. It can
  24.     be used with other BBS types so long as they support Dorinfo1.Def type
  25.     Doors.
  26.  
  27.     IceChat will self-exit after 5 minutes of inactivity, in order to prevent
  28.     the user from wasting online time if they (or You) have forgotten that they 
  29.     were on your BBS.
  30.  
  31. {+} Customized Chat Screen!! (Simply Design an ANSI Screen [Sample Included]
  32.     When you save your screen make sure that you save it without ANY screen
  33.     clear codes in it!!!
  34.  
  35.     When the SysOp doesn't answer the page, IceChat will update RemoteAccess
  36.     and cause the [Wants Chat] To be activated. In Ra 2.00 it will also insert
  37.     the page reason that was used in IceChat.
  38.  
  39.     Configurable Emergency page option, password protected. This is activated
  40.     when a user has paged outside of paging hours. If they chose to emergency
  41.     page, they must enter a password. Disabled by leaving password blank.

  43. {+} ONLINE USER EDITOR : IceChat has an Online User Editor Built in so that 
  44.     the SysOp can edit the users Profile without having to exit back to the 
  45.     BBS.

  47.     A configurable page tune for those users that are in your VIP.CTL Textfile

  49.     Easily configured, unlike many programs SysOp's have to deal with.

  62.     When using Ra, IceChat calls upon the following Remote Access Files :
  63.  
  64.       ExitInfo.Bbs   - Read/Write To Exitinfo.BBS, to adjust time limit,
  65.                        read in the User's Name, Location, baudrate etc..
  66.                        and to indicate the [Wants Chat] at the bottom of the
  67.                        SysOp's screen after exiting IceChat.

  69.       Config.Ra      - READ ONLY. IceChat reads in the SysOp's defined paging 
  70.                        hours, and the SysOp's name from this file. NOTHING is
  71.                        written out to this file.

  73.       Vip.Ctl        - READ ONLY. Reads in your VIP Users and plays a 
  74.                        different page tune for these users (Configurable) 
  75.  
  76.       Ra.Log         - IceChat writes out to this file to indicate the User's
  77.                        Paging reason (If you set your Logname to your Ra log)

  79.     If you are not using remote access, the only file that is read from is the
  80.     Dorinfo1.Def File.

  83.  CONFIGURATION FILES

  89.     When you run ICECFG.EXE, you must configure the following :
  90.  
  91.            Active BBS Comport (COM1 - COM4)
  92.            The BBS Name
  93.            Whether or not to restore user's time after Chat
  94.            Delay in seconds to play page tune
  95.            Full BBS System path (To find Ra files, or Dorinfo1.def if using
  96.                                  foreign software.)
  97.            Whether or not you are using Remote Access
  98.            Macro File Configuration
  99.            Colour Configuration
  100.            Emergency page password <Blank To Disable>
  101.            LogFile Path & Name (You may wish to use the path & file name to
  102.                                 your RA log)
  103.            VIP Page Tune path and name
  104.            Customized Chat Screen path & Filename
  105.  
  106.     Please note that the configuration file is not a text file, so you 
  107.     MUST use ICECFG.EXE to configure the program, and the configuration file
  108.     must be named ICECHAT.CFG.
  109.  
  110.   MACRO.ICE
  111.   =========
  112.  
  113.     Macro.Ice file is a text file that you can create with a standard text
  114.     editor, or with IceCfg.Exe.  It contains words that will be replaced
  115.     in chat with new words. For Example, if you type "BBS" in chat, it will
  116.     replace it with "Bulletin Board System". These are all SysOp Defined.
  117.     It is RECOMMENDED that you use IceCfg.Exe to add to this list, because
  118.     of the format in which IceChat uses to read them in. If you use a standard
  119.     text editor, it cannot be guaranteed that the macros will be read in 
  120.     properly by Icechat.

  122.   NOPAGE.ICE
  123.   ==========
  124.  
  125.     NoPage.Ice file is a text file that you can create. It contains any names
  126.     of users that you feel shouldn't be allowed to page. When the user enters
  127.     the page reason, it will appear that the music is playing from the remote
  128.     end, but no page music will be heard on the Sysop's end. The Structure is 
  129.     as follows :

  134.     For example. You do not HAVE to use a NoPage.Ice, but it is always handy 
  135.     to prevent yourself from being annoyed by the constant paging user that
  136.     every BBS has.
  137.  
  138.  RUNNING ICECHAT
  139.  ===============
  140.  
  141.  In order to run IceChat.Exe, you must have a fossil driver active. Fossil 
  142.  drivers such as X00, or BNU should work fine with IceChat. If you don't,
  143.  a simple error message will be displayed, and the program will stop. Also,
  144.  please make sure that there is a Page.Ra in your BBS System Directory, or
  145.  in your IceChat Directory. IceChat requires this as your page tune. A
  146.  sample Page.Ra has been included.
  147.  
  148.  When you run IceChat, be sure that the IceChat.Cfg file has been created.  If
  149.  it had not, then you MUST run IceCfg.Exe. If you don't, and attempt to run
  150.  IceChat.Exe directly, IceChat will FORCE you to run IceCfg.Exe, by running it 
  151.  for you. There are only two parameters that can be used for IceChat. They are
  152.  
  153.  NOTE : DO _NOT_ WRITE PROTECT OR HIDE _ANY_ OF THE ICECHAT FILES. IF YOU DO,
  154.         ICECHAT WILL COMPLETELY IGNORE THEM, AND THEREFORE NOT RUN PROPERLY.
  155.  
  156.  IceChat.Exe -F (Or '/F' or just 'F') as long as there is an 'F' in the 
  157.                 parameter. This will cause IceChat to abort the page reason 
  158.                 prompt and jump directly into chat mode otherwise ..
  159.  
  160.  IceChat.Exe -L (Or '/L' or just 'L') as long as there is an 'L' in the 
  161.                 parameter. This will cause IceChat to run in local/testing
  162.                 mode so that the SysOp is able to test it out. Otherwise ..
  163.  
  164.  IceChat.Exe -S (Or '/S' or just 'S') as long as there is an 'S' in the 
  165.                 parameter. This will cause IceChat to run in Single Line Chat
  166.                 mode rather than the split screen Chat Mode. Otherwise ..     
  167.  
  168.  IceChat.Exe -? (Or '/?' or just '?') as long as there is a '?' in the 
  169.                 parameter. This will cause IceChat to bring up a quick help
  170.                 screen on how to run IceChat. Otherwise ..
  171.  
  172.  IceChat.Exe    This will cause IceChat To wait for the user to enter a page 
  173.                 reason.  If they are outside of paging hours, a message to that
  174.                 effect will be displayed, and they will return to the BBS.
  175.

  180.     This Program may be freely distributed but DO NOT under any circumstances 
  181.     change any of the executables or alter any files that come with this.

  212.     ADDED, then you are using a possibly modified or altered copy of ICECHAT.
