- │ GEDCOLOR - The GoldEd Color Editor Ver.1.00 │
- └────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- Here it is, the GoldEd color editor !
-
- GoldEd is, in my opinion, a very good program, it is very flexible,
- but the color part is pretty hard to work with.
-
- But now your problems is solved, you got GEDCOLOR !
-
- WHAT DOES IT DO ?
- ─────────────────
- GEDCOLOR is a very easy-to-use program. It will show you GoldEd
- screens, and all you have to do is to choose your favorite color
- setup, GEDCOLOR will then update GoldEd, so next time you start
- GoldEd, it will be in your new colors.
-
- HOW DOES IT WORK ?
- ──────────────────
- GEDCOLOR will make a configuration file, called GEDCOLOR.CFG, it
- will add a line in GoldEd.Cfg: INCLUDE [DRIVE:\PATH\]GEDCOLOR.CFG,
- if you are not satisfied with your colors, all you have to do is
- to remove this line from GoldEd.Cfg, using any normal text editor.
-
- HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ?
- ───────────────────────
- Not much, really, all I ask is that you send me a letter telling me
- that you are using GEDCOLOR (and hopefully that you think it is a
- great program :-)
- You can send me a Netmail, or write an old fashioned postcard, my
- address is:
-
- Michael Reiler
- Olufsvej 31
- 2100 K¢benhavn ¥
- DK-Denmark
-
- My Fido address is 2:231/77.10
-
- INSTALLATION
- ────────────
- You can put GEDGOLOR in any directory you like, just remember that
- you must keep these files in the same directory:
-
- GEDCOLOR.EXE
- GEDCOLOR.RES
- GEDCOLOR.CFG
-
- GEDCOLOR will look for the GOLDED enviroment variable, if it cant
- find it, it will look for GoldEd.Cfg in the current directory.
- You can also specify the path to GoldEd as part of the commandline,
- for example GEDCOLOR C:\GOLDED.
-
- If GEDCOLOR.CFG is missing, GEDCOLOR will start with colors (nearly)
- like the default Golded colors.
-
- HOW ABOUT MY OLD COLORS ?
- ─────────────────────────
- If you already have defined colors for GoldEd, and would like to keep
- them, or use them as basis for a new color configuration, dont worry :-)
-
- Use a texteditor to cut all lines in GoldEd.Cfg starting with the
- keyword COLOR, and copy them to a new file, save this file as
- GEDCOLOR.CFG, and put it in the same directory as GEDCOLOR.
- If you already have a INCLUDE-file with all your COLOR-lines, just
- rename this file to GEDCOLOR.CFG (Remember to delete the old INCLUDE-
- line in GoldEd.Cfg)
- Run GEDCOLOR, answer Yes to update GoldEd, and you colors are saved.
-
- THE RANDOM OPTION
- ─────────────────
- When you have made some color configurations you are satisfied with,
- you can use GEDCOLOR to choose randomly between your color configurations.
- Call GEDCOLOR, most likely in the batch file you start GoldEd with, like
- this : GEDCOLOR CHOOSE.
- GEDCOLOR will then, without actually starting like normal, pick a color
- configuration at random, and update GoldEd, so nearly ( remember its
- random :-) every time you start GoldEd it will be with new colors.
- If you call GEDCOLOR with you GoldEd path on the command line, this HAS
- to be before the CHOOSE parameter:
-
- Valid: GEDCOLOR C:\GOLDED CHOOSE
- Valid: GEDCOLOR CHOOSE
- Not valid: GEDCOLOR CHOOSE C:\GOLDED
-
- ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS ?
- ───────────────────────────
- Yes, GEDCOLOR will only work with color displays.
- GEDCOLOR does not support the GoldEd keyword INTENSECOLORS.
-
- This program has taken many hours to develop, so please use 5 minutes
- to write a postcard/netmail to me, telling me what you think about it.
-
- If you discover any bugs, please let me know !
