- What is FeConv ?
- ----------------
-
- FeConv in the current version converts the FastEcho-Configfile to
- Remote_Access 1.1x AND 2.00g, SuperBBS 1.17, QuickBBS 2.76, WME 1.00b,
- FrontDoor 2.xx, ProBoard 1.3x and Intermail 2.2x.
- The more, you are able to create textfiles with
- fully definable listformats. For each textfile created you can
- specify a header and footer to be included at run-time and much more.
-
- How to configure FeConv:
- ------------------------
-
- Upgrading from earlier versions:
- --------------------------------
- - Read FeConv.His
- - Look into FeConv.DMO for new keywords/sections.
- - Merge the needed parts from FeConv.DMO into your FeConv.Cfg.
- - Make the neccessary changes (Paths,...).
- - That's it.
-
-
- New Installation:
- -----------------
- - Read FeConv.His
- - Read through FECONV.DLC (sorry, only for German users at the moment)
- - Copy FeConv.DMO to FeConv.Cfg
- - Read through it carefully and make the neccessary changes.
- - I suggest setting the loglevel to 4 until everything works fine.
- - That's it.
-
-
- !!! See FECONV.HIS for commandline-switches !!!
-
- Some notes on Feconv's behaviour:
- ---------------------------------
-
- - When converting to Remote_Access, FeConv searches Config.Ra for
- a Node-Adress whose zone matches the one specified in FastEcho
- for that specific area. So if you have mutliple Akas within one
- zone, you should place the Aka you want FeConv to take on top in
- Config.Ra.
- For QuickBBS and ProBoard a complete match (zone, net, node, point)
- is done.
- For WME, the Node-Adress of FE is copied into that string-field...
-
- - You can include environment-settings in all paths, except
- GROUPFILE. e.g. PATH %FE% or FOOTER %RA%\TXTFILE\FOOTER.TXT
-
- - When AREACOMMENT is chosen as description when converting to
- your BBS-Config and there's none given in FastEcho, the
- AREATAG will be taken. You should also get a warning in your
- logfile.
-
- - When using the ECBOARD-Section, you'll have to specify ALL keywords
- for the given boards.
-
- - CREATION will insert 2 lines of text just before any header:
-
- "Created by (YOUR NAME) on (CREATION DATE) using FeConv (VERSION)"
- "----------------------------------------------------------------"
-
- YOUR NAME is the name you specified in FeConv.CFG behind the
- NAME-statement.
-
- - FeConv searches your FastEcho-Configuration for the BBS-Config
- to use (SBBS/QBBS/RA/...) and takes only this from it's own
- configfile. No need any more to outcomment or delete the other
- BBS-sections.
- Remember to adjust the path to your BBS-Config in
- FeSetup/System/Advanced Options/New area defaults
-
- - I suggest using AREATAGs as QWKNames (SBBS/PB), since they'll be more
- unique than the descriptions.
-
- - For the FrontDoor-Part the environment 'FD' must point to the
- path SETUP.FD resides in. The path to your Folder.FD is read from
- it. Same goes for InterMail (IM)
-
- - The path to your netmail-directory is read from FastEcho.Cfg.
- (also your main-aka and sysopname for the netmail-report).
-
- - When converting to ProBoard, the internal conference-number of
- FastEcho is taken as board-number, since Squish and *.MSG-Boards
- don't have one in FastEcho such as QBBS-Boards do.
-
- - The same applies to RA >=2.00g and the JAM-Areas.
-
- Guess, that's all for the moment...
-
- Features for registered users:
- ------------------------------
-
- - None... FeConv is not crippled in any way
-
- Further improvements on my todo-list:
- -------------------------------------
-
- Full-Screen Setup....
