- EZ-Slot Machine v2.3
-
- <c> 1992,1993 by Bob DaCastello
-
-
- Welcome to EZ-Slots!
-
- Sysop Documentation
-
- Introduction:
-
- From the mindless array of slot machines littering the electronic arcade
- and casino rooms emerged a new face, a new era...EZ-Slots! An online
- gambling door in which your players loose, I mean, bet $'s in the EZ-Slot
- Machine.
- EZSLOTs supports most BBS drop files.
-
-
- Hardware requirements:
-
- Any IBM machine with DOS 3.1 or better should work just fine. Color
- monitor prefered but not required. Fossil driver such as BNU or X00.sys
- is also highly recommended.
- EZSLOTs has been tested using DOS 3.3, DOS 5.0, DOS 6.0, Lantastic,
- Novel, DV, QEMM, on machines ranging from XT's to 486's.
- About 140k of memory is required.
-
- Upgrading:
-
- Copy new files over the old ones, rerun the setup program for all versions
- prior to 2.2.
-
- Legalities:
-
- This software and accompanying materials are distributed "as is"
- without warranty, express, implied or statutory, including but not
- limited to any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness
- for a particular purpose. In no event shall anyone involved with
- the creation and production of this product be liable for indirect,
- special, or consequential damages, arising out of any use thereof
- or breach of any warranty. In addition, by placing this software
- upon your BBS system for use by any other person(s) or entities,
- you have agreed to register this program within 30 days of
- installation.
-
-
- Distribution:
-
- You may make this file available for downloading from your BBS or you may
- upload it to any BBS of your choice, provided that you do not make any
- changes to the contents of the archive. The archive and its individual
- contents may not be used by any service that charges any money whatsoever,
- without the written permission of the author.
-
- Files included:
-
- EZSLOT.EXE Main program
- EZSETUP.EXE Setup program
- EZSLOTH.A?? Sysop editable help screens
- EZSLOT.DOC What your reading now
- LW_REG.FRM Registration form for ALL LlanoWare Doors
- FILE_ID.DIZ Well, you need to know what the file is, right?
-
- Two other files will be created in this directory, *.DAT files.
-
-
- Installation:
-
- Installation is fairly easy and straight-forward. The following steps and
- examples should have you up and running in a very short period of time.
- It is assumed that you are familiar with setting up DOORS on your system.
- To this end, only examples of the configuration file and Door batch file
- (if required by your BBS software) are described.
-
- 1) Create a directory to hold all EZ-Slot files.
-
- 2) Un-archive the EZ-Slot file into your newly
- created EZ-Slot directory.
-
- 3) Run EZSETUP to create your configuration files.
-
- If you are running multiline, answer the second question with
- the node number that your setting up, if your running single
- line, answer it with 1. Be sure to answer ALL questions,
- enter a "0" when asked for registration number if you have not
- yet registered. A file called EZSLOTx.CTL will be created for
- each node.
-
- Running EZSLOTs:
-
- A sample batch file will be created for you, if you so choose.
-
- Here is a simple batchfile for running single node:
- c:
- cd \bbs\ezslot
- ezslot 1 <-- means to use EZSLOT1.CTL
- c:
- cd \bbs
-
- To run EZSLOTs locally, cd to the EZSLOT dir and run EZSLOT with
- a /L. ie: EZSLOT /L You will be prompted for the name
- you wish to use.
-
-
- Multinode notes:
-
- EZSLOTs is multinode aware, if another node tries to use the door while
- someone else is already in, they will be notified that the door is inuse
- and by what node # and user name. EZSLOTs will support up to 99 nodes.
-
- Registration benefits:
-
- First and foremost, knowing that you have supported the author so he can
- continue his work! Besides that, the nagging "Unregistered" message goes
- away and your users will then be shown that you support shareware! Once
- registered, you will be able to configure the starting number of turns and
- the starting dollar amount.
-
- How to register:
-
- For a $10.00 donation sent to the address below, you will be given a
- registration number personalized just for you! If you have a valid
- FIDONET address, the registration number will be sent to you directly.
- Otherwise, the registration number will be sent to you via snailmail
- (US Postal service). All registrations will be sent out within
- 3 days of receipt. See LW_REG.FRM for more info.

-
- History:
-
- 1.0 Writen in QB4.5, never released.
- 2.0 First beta release. Rewriten in TP6.0 using JPDoor kit 3.2
- (unsatisfactory/slow ANSI routines)
- 2.1 Second beta release. Rewriten using Scott Bakers DoorDriver 5.0
- Much faster routines.
- 2.2 Fixed some minor bugs in both the setup program and the main program,
- such as, input in game for help/sound/redraw/odds had to be in caps,
- sound was not turning on/off (was always on), help file was not being
- displayed and a few others.
- Added to the setup program two dropfile types that had been left out.
- Now asks if you are using a fossil driver.
- Added to main program so that when a player has run out of money or
- used thier turns they bypass the menu and exit the game after being
- shown the score files. Player can still re-enter the game afterwards
- though.
- Added true multinode support as well as some additional termination
- information is displayed. Sound is now sent to local OR remote,
- whichever is playing. Sound routines redone for better sound/graphics.
- 2.3 Added changes to the exit routines to correctly update the users scores
- if they drop carrier.
- Now trims the Last weeks winners to only keep score of the last
- 10 weeks winners.
- Changed the main menu screen.
