  1.                                 DOORWAY
  2.  
  3. This package contains several programs.  DOORWAY can be set up to turn
  4. programs into DOORS on BBS's, and to allow remote access to either a
  5. BBS or a computer at home or business.  The following major executable
  6. files are provided:

  8.         DOORWAY.EXE   This is the main redirection program.
  9.         DWHOST.COM    This program will answer the phone and pass control
  10.                       to DOORWAY for remote access applications.
  11.         DWCOMM.EXE    The com program to call in with.
  12.         DWCONFIG.EXE  A program to create a configuration file for DOORWAY.
  13.                       DOORWAY may be set up for command line switchs or to
  14.                       read a configuration file.
  15.  
  16. If all you are wanting to do is set up a remote system to call into later,
  17. do the following:
  18.  
  19.         Run install, and answer the questions.
  20.     log into subdirectory you logged into.
  21.         Enter: DWHOST L
  22.         Make any necessary changes to the set-up.
  23.         F10 to save.
  24.         Press F1 or F2 to exit.
  25.         End your autoexec.bat file with \DWHOST\HOST if you wish the computer
  26.                 to boot into the HOST mode.

  28. When you are ready to bring up the HOST to receive calls, type HOST.  Call in
  29. with DWCOMM or your favorite communicaitons program.  I recommend QMODEM, GT
  30. Power Com TELIX and so forth.  Once you have called in, entered your password
  31. and been dropped to dos, enter DOORWAY mode on the remote end (ALT = on
  32. most com programs, CONTROL DOWN ARROW GT, not applicable to DWCOMM) so all
  33. the keys will work over the modem.  DOORWAY will toggle between BIOS and
  34. DIRECT SCREEN write mode by entering the control character you defined in the
  35. installation from remote.  If you are not getting anything on the remote end,
  36. enter this character to switch over to DIRECT WRITE mode.  Enter it twice to
  37. redraw the screen.

  39. To transfer a file while in DOS, make sure you have a copy of DWXFER.EXE on
  40. the remote (in the path) and HOST end.  Then either shell to DOS on the remote
  41. and enter DWXFER REMOTE, or install it as an external protocol, so that when
  42. you do a download it will shell to dos and execute DWXFER REMOTE.  If you are
  43. calling in with DWCOMM simply select the DWXFER option.

  45. Type exit when through to end the call and bring DWHOST back up for the next
  46. call.

  48. If carrier is lost in DOS, DOORWAY will bring DWHOST back up again.

  52. If you are running something out of the ordinary then you will need to read
  53. the DOC's.  If you are wanting to use DOORWAY with a bulletin board to create
  54. DOORS then you will need to read the DOORWAY.DOC file.
