  3. CRiK v1.0 & 1.1 was origionally done by Fractal and me earlier this year,
  4. But it was written in Quick Basic, and was very bulky & slow.  I have re-
  5. done crik in Borland's Turbo Pascal 7.0, and its faster than ever! 8)

  7. What is CRiK?
  8. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  9. CRiK is a program that searches thru ascii or ansi bulletins and takes out
  10. the 'Unregistered' part, and saves it..  But thats not all it can do, it
  11. can search for ANY string of text of your choice, and replace it.
  12. *AND* if you run Synchronet BBS software, you can have it search for a string
  13. in your text.dat and replace it :)  (like the Sysop is: ..... part..etc)
  14. The things you can do with CRiK are UNLIMITED!
  15. (Sorry, crik doesn't work on exe/com or binary files)

  17. Setting up CRiK.

  19. Just copy CRiK.exe into a directory of your choice (preferably c:\crik)
  20. Run it by typing crik crik.cfg, then it will let you make the config file.
  21. At this point, type in the stuff it wants, and it will save it. Its pretty
  22. easy to use, just play around with it for a while. Oh one thing i might
  23. add, when you specify the 'Text to search for' in the config file, it has
  24. to be EXACTLY the same as the text in your ascii/ansi bulletin.  So, for
  25. your best results, edit your bulletin, and cut & paste the string into
  26. the crik.cfg file.  When you run CRiK <Configfile> and it is successful
  27. at CRiKing, it will say 'CRiKED!'. You may have as many config files as
  28. you wish!

  32. This little program was written entirely in Borland Turbo Pascal 7.0
  33. (God i love Pascal :)  CRiK is freeware, but if you want to send me

  47. Voting Booth - What more can i say?  One of the best voting booth doors out!
  48. CRiK         - ASCii/ANSi bulletin cracker/post-processor. (removes nags)
  49. DiZiT!       - Adds a 'SIG' to the bottom of all file_id.diz's that are up
  50.                loaded.  Good way to advertize your bbs!
  51. eDOOR        - This is a set of TPU's (for Pascal 7.0) That make writing
  52.                Doors/Online Games simple.
