- ───────────────Descriptions of files:─────────────────────────────────────────
-
- ■ ROM.DOC
- This is the setup and operation instructions for the Door, Including
- Registration form, License and (c) Notices.
-
- ■ WELCOME
- This is an ASCII Text file displayed to Callers who open the Door and
- are in NON Graphics mode. You can use your Favorite TEXT Editor or an
- Ansi Editor which can save in ASCII (Suchas Thedraw). You may also use
- the default supplied screen.
- See the file Included with this ZIP file named 'WELCOME' for an example
-
- ■ WELCOMEG
- This is an ANSI Color file displayed to Callers who open the Door and
- are in Graphics mode. You can use your Favorite ANSI Editor or any
- Editor which can save in ANSI/ASCII format (Suchas Thedraw). You may
- also use the default supplied screen.
-
- See the file Included with this ZIP file named 'WELCOMEG' for an example
-
-
- ■ DIR
- This is an ASCII Text file displaying the Areas available when the 'F'
- command is selected from within the door. It should contain the area
- numbers and a description of the area.
-
-
- See the file Included with this ZIP file named 'DIR' for an example
-
-
- ■ DIRG
- This is an ANSI Color file displaying the Areas available when the 'F'
- command is selected from within the door. It should contain the area
- numbers and a description of the area.
-
- See the file Included with this ZIP file named 'DIRG' for an example
-
-
- ■ DLPATH.LST
- This is a text file that has the available Downloadable paths on it.
- It will be in the format:
-
- C:\DIR1
- C:\DIR2
- C:\DIR3
- Etc..
- This is used when the Door searches for the Download selection.
- Each line should have only 1 Directorie But SHOULD NOT have a Trailing
- backslash '\'.
- use the Sample DLPATH.LST for a base to model your own after.
- Remember, ANY Directories listed in here can be downloaded by anyone
- with access to the ROM Door. (Unless you specify to make users download
- files from the BBS).
-
-
- ■ ROM.CTL
- This is the Main configuration file and should be edited for your
- system's needs, Here is a line by line description of each line and
- a description of it's use.
-
- LINE1: 95WR7G97N - Your Regitration Code for the Door.
- LINE2: Northwest PC Link - Your BBS name, Use with line 1.
- LINE3: PDSI-004 - the ROM Name
- LINE4: NO - NO or YES, If this Line is 'NO' Users will be
- Able to download from INSIDE the door and no
- BYTE/DL Charges will be made to the users Account
- If LINE 4 is 'YES' The file the user requests to
- Download will be copied to the Directory specified
- on line 5. That way a user WILL be charged for the
- download. After requesting the file, The door will
- first check it's existance, If the file DOES Exist
- it will be copied to The DIR Specified in line 5
- and the user will be shown a message like this:
- ┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
- │File <FILENAME>, has been copied to the BBS, You can download it │
- │from the BBS as <FILENAME> │
- └──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
- where <FILENAME> would be replaced with the
- actual file the user requested.
- LINE5: D:\UP - The Directory that the Requested file will be
- copied to If LINE4 is 'YES'
- LINE6: DLPATH.LST - Filename For the Downloadable path list
- See above for an Explanation.
- LINE7: AREAS.NAM - Line NOT USED, Ignore it.
- LINE8: 34 - *IMPORTANT* this contains the ACTUAL
- Number of AREAS Available on the ROM!
- Each line after this would point to a TEXT File
- describing the Area. For Example if LINE8: was
- 4, There would be 4 File areas to choose from.
- EACH line after this would Point to a Text file
- Describing that specific area.
-
-
- LINE9: G:\ROM1\DIR1 - When '1' Was pressed from the 'F' menu, This file
- would be displayed.
-
- LINE10: G:\ROM1\DIR2 - When '2' Was pressed from the 'F' menu, This file
- would be displayed.
-
- LINE11: G:\ROM1\DIR3 - When '3' Was pressed from the 'F' menu, This file
- would be displayed.
-
- And so on, If LINE8: Was '31' there would be 31 more lines following,
- Each line would Display a differen't file. Understand? Naah, I will make it a
- try to explain it a more:
-
- If LINE8 were 34, There would be 34 More lines following,
-
- The FIRST line Following would be displayed when '1' was Pressed frm the file
- menu
-
- The SECOND line Following would be displayed when '2' was Pressed frm the file
- menu
-
- The THIRD line Following would be displayed when '3' was Pressed frm the file
- menu
-
- The FOURTH Line following would be displayed when '4' was Pressed frm the file
- menu
-
- And so on and so on..
-
- Hope that helps to understand. I may always be reached On my Voice Line for
- Additional questions On the setup of this Door.
-
-
-
- ■ ROM.EXE
- This is the main EXECUTABLE Program, it is Definately required to run
- the Door. The format for Running the door would be:
-
- ROM <DOORFILE> Where <DOORFILE> would be The DOOR file created by the
- BBS or by a convertor suchas QKDOOR.
- An Example might be: ROM C:\PCB\PCBOARD.SYS
-
- Optionally you can specify a NON STANDARD COM: Port and Tell whether
- a FOSSIL Driver is installed.
-
- With a NON Standard COM Port a Valid Example would be:
- ROM <DOORTYPE> <COMINFO> Where <COMINFO> would be in the format:
- PORT:03E8:5 so PORT:[COMBASE]:[IRQ] If the <COMINFO> parameter is
- supplied it will OVERRIDE ANY INFO IN <DOORTYPE>
- An Example might be: ROM C:\PCB\PCBOARD.SYS PORT:03E8:5
-
- if a fossil driver is installed you would use the format:
- ROM <DOORTYPE> <FOSSINFO> where <FOSSINFO> would be in the format:
- PORT:F:1 so PORT:[F]:[PORT] Where [F] means USE fossil and [PORT]
- tells the DOOR which PORT to use fossil on (1 for port 1, 2 for port
- 2 and so on..).
- An Example might be: ROM C:\PCB\PCBOARD.SYS PORT:F:1
-
- * NOTE: You CANNOT use the PORT:x:n AND the PORT:xxxx:x At the SAME
- time.
-
- ■ SEND_G.BAT, SEND_X.BAT, SEND_Y.BAT, SEND_Z.BAT
- These are the External Batch files used if the DOOR is used for
- transfers. ROM.EXE Shells to COMMAND.COM and Executed with the
- following Parameters:
-
-
- %1 = Uart Base Like: '03F8' (Can be used for NON Standard COM Ports
- And DSZ portx command)
-
- %2 = IRQ, the Interrupt in which the COM Port is on.
-
- %3 = Full path+filename to file being Downloaded Like:
- 'L:\001A\FILE.ZIP'
-
- %4 = COM Port (Suchas 1 or 2) Can be used with DSZ port command
-
- %5 = Caller Connect Speed Like '2400'
-
- %6 = Locked Baud Rate Like: '19200'
-
- See the Supplied SEND_n.BAT files for Examples.
