  133. place a brief description of their services in appropriate areas.

  135. apply.

  144. Those requiring secure and private communications should use 
  145. alternative means to deliver such communications. Messages in the 
  146. administration conference are routed so that only member sysops 
  147. and other officials may gain access.

  155. by which messages are designated for delivery to a specific 
  156. individual. However, these messages are not ensured of privacy 
  157. since the network can not verify compliance by all systems and 
  158. can not verify that the internal security of each system is 
  159. adequate.

  172. adequate. Users, may if they desire, send routed messages to 
  173. other individuals in encrypted form; however, the user must 
  174. assure himself that the coding mechanism used is sufficiently 
  175. secure for the purposes of the message. High priority messages 
  176. may be more secure if sent by commercial wire.

  181. COPYRIGHT AND RETRANSMISSION OF MESSAGES

  184. The compilation of messages on the @001 network, including input 
  185. by users is Copyrighted by the @001 network. Other than brief 
  186. excerpts, quoting or retransmission of the message traffic of the 
  187. @001 network is prohibited.

  192. BARRING OF USERS
  193.

  195. Users may be barred or locked out at the discretion of the 
  196. conference moderators and the network administrators. Individual 
  197. computer bulletin board systems retain the right to decline to 
  198. receive messages traffic from particular individuals in their 
  199. discretion. The facilities of the @001 network may not be used 
  200. for illegal purposes. The @001 network reserves the right to 
  201. temporarily or permanently suspend operations at any time and for 
  202. any reason.

  205. PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS

  208. The conference moderator is an official appointed by the @001 
  209. network who generally "polices" the conference. The moderator 
  210. will insure that the spirit and letter of any network regulations 
  211. are followed.

  214. Unless a violation is egregious, willful or considered by the 
  215. conference moderator to be an imminent threat to the network, 
  216. first violators will be warned by routed traffic to desist. Upon 
  217. further violations, a user may be placed on probation or 
  218. temporarily or permanently barred from the network, or some areas 
  219. of the network.

  222. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  225. The @001 network is a non-profit association of volunteers. In 
  226. consideration of access to the network, all users waive the right 
  227. to make claims of any kind related to the activities of the 
  228. network, and assume the risk of all transactions which they 
  229. undertake herein. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT IF MESSAGES ARE 
  230. CRITICAL THAT A COMMERCIAL CARRIER BE USED.

  236. The @001 network may change regulations at any time by publishing 
  237. notice of the changes in the affected conferences.

  240. RESPONSE TO SUBPOENAS; COURT ORDERS

  243. The @001 network, if directed to do so by subpoena or other court 
  244. order may provide the contents of any messages, including 
  245. "routed" or "encrypted" messages to official authority.
