- Written with a the use of a great BBS door utility,
-
- DoorDriver 5.00 - By Scott M. Baker

-
- I'm not going to bore you with the usual registration, shareware,
- features, and usage here. BUT I do strongly suggest you read the
- rest of this short document for future upgrades and support. If
- you have any suggestions for improvements or bug reports they can
- be mailed to the address above or at the end of this file. If you'd
- like to have the source code (* Turbo Pascal 7 *), the MultiNode
- awareness option added, notices of future updates, plus other custom
- features, REGISTER IT !!!!!!!
-

-
- ------- INSTALLING BBSADDS ------------------------------------------------
-
-
-
- 1) Add this line to your autoexec.bat set dszlog=c:\dszlog or
- one like it if you don't have it there already. Or you can
- add it to your .BAT file that calls your bbs program.
- Also you must have DSZ somewhere in your path. I put it in my
- dos dir with all my other dos utilities.
-
-
- 2) If you are using the a fossil driver X00 then the Z-X modem batch
- (.BAT) files should work just fine. If your using another type of
- fossil driver then you'll have to turn it off before calling DSZ
- and back on when DSZ exits.
- If you aren't using a fossil driver then the first and last
- lines in Zmodem-Xmodem example .bat files should be removed.
-
-
- 3) Make a directory named BBSADDS then copy all the files from
- the bbsadds archive to that directory.
-
-
- 4) Edit the file called BBSADDS.CTL. Replace any info that needs
- to be replaced (BBSType, SysopFirst-Last name, etc). Pay special
- attention to the docs in that file.
-
- " Hint: If your users aren't getting color try the COLOR1 Option.. "
-
- 5) Edit the file called bbsadds.bat that comes with BBSADDS.
- The format for the file is:
-
- CD C:\BBS\BBSADDS ( Change to the bbsadds directory )
- bbsadds /pC:\bbs /n? ( /p path to your drop file /n node number )
- CD C:\BBS ( return to the bbs directory )
-
-
- 6) Install the bbsadds.bat file in your bbs. That part is left up to
- you. I can't help you there because of the many different types
- and kinds of bbs's
-
- 7) One hint in installing the program in a bbs. Some bbs's use an
- errorlevel exit and some shell to the program. If you shell to
- the program you should load command.com with /C in first.
- EXAMPLE: C:\command.com /C C:\raa\doors\bbsadds.exe

-
- ---- DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- BBSADDS will work with many different types of BBS's including
-
- RBBS - Rbbs-Pc version 16.1+ (uses DORINFOx.DEF)
- QUICK - Quickbbs; Uses DORINFOx.DEF (same as above)
- PCB12 - Pcboard version 12
- WWIV - WWIV bbs (uses chain.txt)
- PHOENIX - Phoenix bbs
- WILDCAT - Wildcat bbs
- PCB14 - Pcboard version 14 (not fully tested)
- DOORSYS - The DOOR.SYS format (wildcat 3.0, TAG, etc)
- SPITFIRE - Spitfires drop file (SFDOORS.DAT)
-
- What will BBSADDS do? It permits another sysop to place a description
- of his BBS on yours. BUT only one add from one sysop and at anytime he can
- remove or edit his add as his system changes or he closes his BBS. It
- writes 4 files before the program exits.
-
- ADDS.ANS Ansi bbs add Full descriptions
- ADDS.ASC Text bbs add Full descriptions
- SADDS.ANS Ansi BBS add short description using BBS name, BBS number, BAUD
- SADDS.ASC Ansi BBS add short description using BBS name, BBS number, BAUD
-
- These are standard ansi-ascII files that can be added to your logoff
- screens or combined with to make a nice looking exit for your BBS. For
- the time being a person can add two lines to the BBSADDS.BAT file to
- combine the screens with the sysops current screen. An example
- would be
-
- copy adds.asc+logoff.asc temp
- copy temp c:\bbs\logoff.asc
-
-
- This would add ADDS.ASC to LOGOFF.ASC and should make a nice exit
- screen for any BBS.
-
- Also there was a little file added to this archive called SYSOP_ED.EXE.
- this program can be used to delete BBS adds from the list.
- One more thing while BBSADDS is running you can press ALT C to go into
- Chat mode. ESC takes you out of chat.
-
-
-
- ---- FUTURE ADDITIONS ------------------------------------------------------
-
- 1) All or any future additions depend of you!!!! This program is not
- Freeware and if it doesn't get the support from you then there
- won't be any additions or upgrades in the future.
-
- 2) Add an option to check for foul language. If one of the offending
- words is placed in the add then the users name is posted in a file to
- the sysop. Possably instead of his original add his name is placed
- where the bbs name should be and instead of his message it will say
- that he likes to post foul language in an add. Plus his time will be
- dropped to 0 and he is logged off..
-
- 3) An option to change the name and path of the file that BBSADDS writes
- so the sysop can write it directly to his exit screen.
-
- 4) An option for a header-footer screen so the sysop can add his own
- ansi-text screen to the adds making it all automatic.
-
- 5) Better Multi Node file checking and safety measures.
-
- 6) More SYSOP Configurable including a option to turn off hot keys,
- and an ansi screen file insted of the screen being built in so
- the sysop can change it to match his-hers bbs.
-
- 7) Other types of internal proticals besides X-Zmodem.
-

- you must either send $10.00 to the address listed below or remove
- the program. Usage of the BBSADDS Door for longer than a 30 day
- evaluation period requires that you register the product with the

- you in a position to which the author can pursue monetary damages
- in a court of law.
- There are no keys, delays, etc. in this program what so ever.
- If you feel that this program is a good addition to your BBS and
