- AUTO-GB.EXE
- by John Schulte
- version 1.2
-
-
-
- What it is:
-
- AUTO-GB is a small utility that will read Spitfire's SFBBSLST.DAT
- file and generate a random list of BBSes to be used for a goodbye
- screen.
-
- Why it exists:
-
- I wanted a simple way to honor all of the requests I was getting to
- add my visiting sysop's BBSes to my goodbye screen. This program
- is the result. It's quick and better still, automatic! Now,
- everyone has a chance to have their bbs in my goodbye screen, and
- I don't have to constantly make new screens.
-
- How it works:
-
- Version 1.2 will now read a .CFG file to read in information such
- as, the number of lines you want to use, where your display files
- are kept, etc.. The .CFG is a plain ascii file with the following
- format:
-
- line 1: Node number
- line 2: Spitfire main directory
- line 3: Spitfire work directory
- line 4: Spitfire display directory
- line 5: Number of lines to use
-
- The default config filename is AUTOGB.CFG. A sample is included in
- the archive. Just edit it with your favorite ascii text editor and
- put the .CFG into the same directory that you put AUTO-GB.EXE (I
- recommend your home SF directory for now).
-
- To run AUTO-GB with the default .CFG file just type AUTO-GB at the
- dos prompt. To use a different .CFG (for multi-nodes) add the .CFG
- file name to the command line, like this: AUTO-GB NODE2.CFG
-
- How to use it:
-
- Either run it as an event, run it from the DOS prompt, or run it
- from the SFINIT.BAT file. It depends on how often you want the
- callers to see a new screen.
-
-
