- Motor City MineSweep runs great as a type 7 door on any BBS system that makes
- or can create DORINFO1.DEF or DOOR.SYS.
-
- Begin by unzipping this archive in a directory of its own.
- The Paramters which can be accepted on the command line are:
-
- /N# Node Number.
- /Gx Default Grid Size (6 through 12, default is 10).
- /P<path> The dropfile path if the dropfiles are not in the current directory.
-
- Sample RA menu entry....
-
- Type : 7
- Optional data : C:\DOORS\MINESWP\MINESWP.EXE /N*N /G8 *M
-
- That's all there is to installing the MineSweep door. There are no setup
- programs or configuration files needed.

- When playing MineSweep you are presented with a mine field, and your
- objective is to locate all the mines within that field as quickly as
- possible. To do this, you uncover the squares in the grid which do
- not contain mines. As you uncover squares, clues are given to you,
- in the form of numbers, which will help you to uncover more squares
- without uncovering a mine. If you uncover all the squares without
- mines, you win; if you uncover a mine you lose the game. The faster
- you are at uncovering the squares which do not contain mines, the
- lower your score. Your score translates into the time it takes you
- to win. There is a counter which is displayed at the bottom of the
- grid, on the left of the coordinate prompt, which indicates how many
- seconds you have been playing. MineSweep only keeps track of the
- users who have the lowest time and will display those users once
- your game is over.

-
- ■ The playing area is a mine field, simulated by a grid of squares. Initially,
- all the squares are covered.
- ■ To uncover a square, enter in the coordinate using the letter references on
- each side of the grid.
- ■ If you uncover a square that does not contain a mine, it will either contain
- a number or be blank.
- ■ If the square contains a number, X, then there are X mines in the surrounding
- eight squares.
- ■ If you uncover a blank square, the surrounding eight squares are uncovered
- automatically. If one of these eight squares is blank, then the eight
- squares surrounding it are also uncovered, etc.
- ■ If you uncover a square that contains a mine, the game is over and all the
- mines are displayed.
- ■ If you believe you have identified a mine you can mark it so as to insure you
- don't select it again. To unmark it, and therefor uncover it, simply specify
- the marked coordinates and answer the next prompt with a 'Y'.
- NOTE that marking a mine does not verify that a mine actually exists there.
