-
- This is the SoftNet Bowling Door. We will assume you have at
- least heard of the game of Bowling before since it is the most
- played game in the world.
-
- Users are asked for which type of graphics they would like
- to use. ANSI graphics are required. Color is not, but is preferred.
- ASCII users won't be able to use this door.
-
- You then move the bowler, you see the ball go down the lane,
- you see how many pins are left standing and then you see the pins
- reset.
-
- The Bowling Door allows you to play 3 ten frame games of Bowling.
- After these 3 games the user will be shown their average for the games.
-
- The Bowling Door lists the Top Ten Bowling scores as you leave
- the door. If there is a Tie for Top Score, all (up to 10 players)
- with the top score are listed as number one.
-
- The door should be pretty self-explanatory. Each game has ten
- frames. The bowler gets 2 balls per frame, unless of course you
- get a strike in which case you only get the one ball. In the tenth
- frame, if you get a spare, you get a third ball. If you get a
- strike on the first ball of the tenth frame you get 2 more balls.
- If you get a strike on both the first and second balls of the
- tenth frame you get a third ball. If in the tenth frame you get
- what is known to Bowlers as an open frame (not a strike or a
- spare), you only get the two balls.
-
- In order to Bowl you must have your bowler on the lane. Once
- your bowler is on the lane he/she can then "Move" from side to
- side to determine where they wish to bowl from. Then all you
- need to do is bowl the ball. When a ball is bowled, the bowler
- has an 8 in 11 chance of bowling the ball straight. If the
- ball doesn't go straight you will either "hook" or "slice" it.
- The gutters do work!
-
- The Bowling Door is an animated Bowling door and requires
- ANSI graphics to play. Note this is not necessarily ANSI COLOR
- graphics, just ANSI graphics. If a user chooses ASCII he/she
- will be informed that the door requires ANSI and will be
- returned to the BBS. However if the user chooses Mono graphics
- the door will play nicely except it's pretty darned colorless. :)

- SoftNet Bowling runs great as a type 7 door on RemoteAccess,
- QBBS, SuperBBS, or any other BBS system that makes or can create
- DORINFO1.DEF or Door.Sys drop file.
-
- Begin by unzipping this archive in a directory of its own,
- and create menu entry on your Doors Menu. We always suggest
- adding the *M to force RA to swap itself out of memory before
- running the door.
-
- Sample RA menu entry....
-
- Type : 7
- Optional data : *C /C C:\DOORS\BOWLING\BOWLING.EXE /N*N *M
- or
- Optional data : *C /C C:\DOORS\BOWLING\BOWLING.EXE /N*N /D *M
-
- /N assigns node number change other than 01, for RA/Qbbs/Sbbs
- sysops they can use the /N*N to handle this.
-
- /D tells Bowling to use Door.sys instead of Dorinfo1.def
-
- That's all there is to installing the Bowling door. There
- are no setup programs or configuration files needed.
-
- Bowling will look for its own files in the same directory
- which BOWLING.EXE is loaded from so you do not have to change
- to the door directory to run this door.
