- DESCRIPTION Section 1

- RPG-2100 * THE AWAKENING is the second on a series of on-line games
- sharing the same interface and "look and feel," as well as an awareness
- for DESQVIEW and WINDOWS to allow you to multi-task smoothly, and support
- for single and multinode BBSes.
-
- In this, the second of the series, you have been summoned to one of
- the countries of the land once again. However, this time the old men
- of the land doubt your ability to complete your mission.
-
- It is 57 years after you prevented the awakening (RPG-2100 * The wraith
- of Khalal) and Khalal has finally been awaken by its wraith. The old
- men of the city gather around the sacred fire and wish for a champion
- to come and help them destroy the evil semi-god, semi-dragon. It is
- then that you find your self back in "The Land."
-
- When the old wise man Drakgos sees you, he first doubts your ability to
- bring peace back to the land. You have aged and are now 77 years old.
- Drakgos foresees your dying at the age of 99. The place where Khalal
- has settled his empire of darkness is many years away from the city.
- The only solution, The Fountain Of Youth located in the newly discovered
- Southern Continent.

- You will find your self involved in many fights against many evil
- servants of Khalal. You'll travel the land in search of clues to
- the location of both Khalal and the Fountain of Youth. You must
- unravel the mystery of The Land Of Eternal Confusion II, the dark
- countries of the North territory, and the treachorous Electrified
- fields!

- Play as a FIGHTER and become a master of wars by raising your attributes
- at any of the local Gyms, use weapons of incredible destructive range.
- Visit the local fleemarket and buy the gifts from the Sacred Fire.
- Read scrolls that allow you to cast magic and search for the highest
- treasure of the land: Khalal's Mystic Armor!

- Or choose the path of mystery and knowledge and become a WIZARD, learn
- new spells as you increase your level. Cast healing spells and heal
- your self while in battle without the need of Healing Potions, search
- for the Undimensional Wand and be unstoppable! Become the most
- powerful WIZARD in the land and paralize your foes for a quick kill!

- Or, be a ROGUE and share the benefits of both WIZARD and FIGHTERS.
- You can always teleport away from the evil ones when you find your
- self in a bad situation.

- Explore the vast world of the land and avoid unnecessary battles when
- you can, for when the time is ripe to battle to the death, only one man
- leaves the arena ALIVE! While interacting with the world around you,
- you will discover the many dangers and blessings of the land. Finally,
- destroy all the other players who dare step in to the land!

- RPG-2100 * THE AWAKENING is a completely graphical door game
- which requires the use of an IBM-type computer or compatible with 300k
- of conventional memory, ANSI.SYS, and a BBS capable of generating a
- CHAIN.TXT, DORINFO?.DEF, EXITINFO.BBS, SFDOORS.DAT, CALLINFO.BBS,
- DOOR.SYS (GAP/PC-Board, Doorway, Wildcat style) drop file.

- - Optional: Fossil drivers will be automaticaly detected and used if
- present to allow for maximun compatibility with various systems as
- well as multiple-port serial cards such as DigiBoard.

- INSTALLATION Section 3

- A setup and installation program has been supplied with the program
- package. At the DOS prompt, type "SETUP.EXE" to bring up the
- installation program. From there, you can:
- 1) Install a new game -which will move the files to and from any
- directory chosen by you-
- 2) Reset and re-start an old game
- 3) Print an order form to obtain a registration code from the
- author
- 4) Set shareware version of game into registered mode
- 5) Get last minute information on the game
-
- While installing, the setup program will ask you for:
- - Your BBS name
- - The name of the directory you are installing to
- - The name of the directory where you want ANSI bulletins
- - Amount of time you will allow your users to play
- - Number of times per day they can play.
-
- Do not worry about anything else, the program will know the type of drop
- file you are using, as long as it is a CHAIN.TXT, DORINFO?.DEF,
- EXITINFO.BBS, DOOR.SYS, SFDOORS.DAT, or CALLINFO.BBS - even if you have
- multiple copies in your BBS-
-
- After installing the game, the setup program will create a batch file
- for you to use when calling the game. You are now ready to play. If
- you need to modify the batch file or are having trouble, type 'EXAMPLES'
- at the DOS prompt.
-
- If you prefer to call the game without the use of a batch file, you may
- enter the following command in your BBS door setup, as long as you change
- to the game directory before calling the program:
-
- AWAKE.EXE c:\bbs\door\node3
-
- Note that the name of the drop file will be automatically detected in
- c:\bbs\door\node3 and is; therefore, unnecessary.

- SHAREWARE Section 4

- The idea of Shareware is nowadays widely understood. Programs are
- released as Shareware when the author intentionally releases the program
- to anyone just for the asking. There usually is no copying restriction
- and anyone coming into contact with a Shareware program is highly
- encouraged to make copies for friends or to upload it to any BBS
- (Bulletin Board Service).

- Most of the time, there is a time limitation for use of the program,
- meaning that anyone who uses the program beyond a period of time -
- usually 30 days- must register it (pay for it) by sending a small
- contribution to the author for his/her efforts.

- RPG-2100 * The Awakening is a shareware program, Copyright (c) 1994
- by Carlos R. Garcia. You are encouraged to try the game on your
- BBS for a period of no more than 30 days, after which you must either
- register the game or stop using it. If you decide the game is worth the
- $20 (USA) fee for registration, run the program "SETUP.EXE" to order
- your registration key-code directly from the author or alternately,
- print the file ORDER.FRM included with the game package.

- Registered games allow their users to advance beyond the level FIVE
- restriction in the shareware version, plus give players access to
- the fleemarket.

- As mentioned in the previous section, SHAREWARE, RPG-2100 * The Awakening
- is shareware and should be registered after trial period of no more than
- 30 days. Registered users will enjoy LIFETIME unlimited upgrades, no
- more pauses indicating the unregistered status of the game, ability to
- advance beyond level five, a $5 (USA) discount in any other game in the
- RPG-2100 series, Fleemarket operations will be enabled in the game, and
- best of all, peace of mind by knowing you helped offset the cost of
- developing the game and supported the shareware concept, thus encouraging
- the author to continue to update the game as well as to develop new ones.

- Currently, there are two games in the series:

- 1- RPG-2100 * The Wraith of Khalal
- 2- RPG-2100 * The Awakening

- Registration fee for The Awakening is $20 (USA). In California, please
- add sales tax. A form can be printed from the setup program "SETUP.EXE,"

- Please include the name of the company (BBS) you want the game
- registered to (please type), your name, the name of the program you are
- registering, a shipping address, and any comments you may have. Upon

- to recieve it in a period of about 5 to 10 days.

- International orders may take reasonably longer to receive and thus to
- process. International currency is accepted, as long as it is equivalent
- to US $20 at the time when ordering the game.

- if the complete software-package, or part of, is recompressed, the
