- VIP*10C DOOR INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
-
- Requires: DOS 3.3 or higher
- 200k Hard Drive space
- 360k RAM
- ANSI.SYS or ANSI.COM
- PCBOARD.SYS or DOOR.SYS
-
- Archive: The original copy of this archive was produced by a registered
- copy of PKZ204G. It contains the -AV notice from the author.
- As the archive is uncompressed the -AV notice should appear
- following each file name, and the author's name should appear
- at the conclusion of the uncompression. Do not attempt to use
- the files contained in any VIP10C archive which does not
- display the following notice:
-
- Authentic files Verified! #WFD017
- DAVID ALLIO - VIP SOFTWARE
-
- Required
- Files: Four files are required to be in the VIP10C subdirectory
- in order for this program to operate properly. These are:
-
- VIP10C.EXE VIP10C.CFG VIP10C.INS VIP10C.KEY
-
- More Files: In addition to the files contained in this archive, the
- VIP*10C game door retains the top ten scores for the
- current 10 day period. The Top 10 Scoreboard is reset on
- the first time the door is opened on or after the 10th,
- 20th and 30th day of the month (March 1 for February). It
- also keeps track of the highest score from the previous
- 10 day period. Plus, the all-time highest score is
- retained. As the VIP*10C game door is played four more
- files are created to maintain the scoring history. These
- four files are:
-
- VIP10C.HSC VIP10C.HSW VIP10C.SCO VIP10C.SCR
-
- Although these are ASCII text files, they are encoded to
- prevent tampering. To reset the entire door scoring system
- simply erase all four files. Failure to do so has proven to
- result in an error message and door lockup. It is suggested
- that the VIP*10C door be reset only when a user reaches the
- maximum 5000 points.
-
- SetUp: Create a VIP10C Door subdirectory. Place all of the files from
- the VIP*10C archive in the VIP10C subdirectory.
-
- CFG File: The VIP10C.CFG file must reside in the same subdirectory as the
- VIP10C.EXE file. Eight lines are required for operation.
-
- Structure: Line #1 - Complete drive:\path\filename location of PCBOARD.SYS
- Line #2 - Name of Bulletin Board System
- Line #3 - SysOp's First Name
- Line #4 - SysOp's Last Name
- Line #5 - Registration Key Number - Use 9999999 until registered
- Line #6 - Number of Games per Call - With Registration the
- Maximum Number of Games per Call is 10.
- Without Registration the Maximum Number is 3.
- Line #7 - Complete <drive:\path\filename> of ASCII Bulletin.
- Scoreboard Bulletins are activated with registration.
- Line #8 - Complete <drive:\path\filename> of ANSI Bulletin.
- Scoreboard Bulletins are activated with registration.

- MultiNode: To setup VIP*10C Door for multinode BBS operations, simply create
- a VIP10C.BAT file in each node subdirectory with a path to the
- VIP10C subdirectory. In the VIP10C subdirectory make a separate
- *.CFG file for each node. Example: for Node 2 name the
- configuration file VIP10C2.CFG. Specify that filename for the
- *.CFG in each node's VIP10C.BAT file. Also, be sure to use the
- correct path in the VIP10C.BAT file to return the user to the
- proper node.

- VIP*10C DOOR PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
-
- In late 1990, the original 10C game was conceived and developed.
- The only major difference between that original 10C game and this
- BBS Door is the addition of a scoring system.
-
- This VIP*10C Door was produced using Door Source 4.0ß by
- Todd Miller.
-
- ßeta Testing on the VIP*10C Door was done using an Intel 486DX50
- with MS-DOS 6.0 and TriBBS by Mark Goodwin.
