  9. WHAT IT DOES
  10.  
  11. Feed it a text file, and it'll reformat it so that each line is always less
  12. than 80 columns in length.
  13.  
  14. It also has the option of removing existing carriage returns, should you want
  15. it to. It's dead handy for formatting any random signatures you might have
  16. lying around.

  18. This readme was formatted with it, to prove just how great it truly is.

  20. WHY IT'S GREAT
  21.  
  22. Werl. I wrote it, for a kick off. And it's capable of neatening any size of
  23. file, limited only by the amount of RAM you have. And it's fairly small.
  24. And it's free.

  26. HOW TO USE IT
  27.  
  28. neat STRIP/S filename
  29.  
  30. The STRIP switch tells Neat to remove any carriage returns it locates in the
  31. text, reformatting the lines appropriately. Otherwise it will retain them.
  32. It depends on your preference, really.

  34. Actually, you can use any name for the switch. It doesn't actually matter.
  35. If the switch is there, it'll remove CRs.
