  7. The  demo  is a READ ONLY version of the CrossMAC FileSystem.  It also
  8. will only allow access to the floppy drives, access to Hard Drives and
  9. CD-ROMS have been disabled.

  11. Requirements to operate this DEMO:
  12. AmigaDOS 2.0 or higher
  13. ---AND---  Amiga high-density drive to access Mac 1.44M disks
  14. ---OR---   Amax cartridge with Mac 800K drive
  15. ---OR---   Amax II plus/Amax IV card with standard Amiga drive.

  17.                        The Mac File System for the Amiga
  18.  
  19. CrossMAC  is  an Amiga software product allowing you to read and write
  20. Mac  formatted  disks directly from Amiga.  It fully integrates itself
  21. into  the  Amiga operating system allowing your Mac formatted disks to
  22. be accessed from virtually any utility or application.
  23.  
  24. A  properly  configured  CrossMAC  device will allow you to access any
  25. file  on  an  Mac  formatted disk from any Amiga application.  Imagine
  26. creating a TIFF graphics file on your Mac and bringing it over to your
  27. Amiga  to  convert  it  to IFF graphics.  Other file types that can be
  28. exchanged  include databases, spreadsheets, language compilers and CAD
  29. programs, to name a few.

  31. Mac formatted disks (HFS) are supported with following hardware:
  32.     ·   Low-density, 800K floppies with either the Amax cartridge and
  33.         a Mac 800K drive or the Amax II plus/Amax IV cards and
  34.         standard Amiga floppies.
  35.     ·   High-density, 1.44M floppies with an Amiga-compatible 
  36.         high-density drive.
  37.     ·   Hard drives with the appropriate Amiga hard drive controller.
  38.     ·   Mac HFS-formatted CD-ROMs with the appropriate Amiga hard drive
  39.         controller.
  40. Quasi-Mac formatted disks (HFS) are supported with the standard Amiga
  41. hardware:
  42.     ·   Low-density, Amax 800K floppies.
  43.     ·   Low-density, Emplant 800K floppies.
  44.     ·   Amax and Emplant hard drive partitions.
  45. Other features:
  46.     ·   Support of both Mac data and resource `forks' as separate files.
  47.     ·   Amiga <-> Mac translation of international text characters.
  48.     ·   Disk changes are sensed automatically (if the drive provides
  49.         the proper hardware signal).
  50.     ·   Mac icons automatically displayed under Workbench.
  51.     ·   Utilities to format, copy and check the integrity of Mac disks.
  52.     ·   File salvation utility to try to recover files from a corrupted
  53.         Mac disk.
  54.     ·   Transparent support of MacBinary files.
  55.     ·   Not copy protected.
