  43. 2) Sound Device Auto-Configure

  46. When Melody Maestro is run for the first time, it gives you the
  47. option of running Sound Device Auto-Configure before
  48. continuing.  It is strongly recommended that you run this test
  49. in order to eliminate any possible sound problems which may
  50. occur.
  51.  
  52. Sound Device Auto-Configure is comprised of a series of
  53. procedures which determine what sound device configuration is
  54. best suited for use with your system.  You can run these
  55. diagnostics at any time by clicking on the 'Sound Device
  56. Auto-Configure...' button in the Melody Maestro Global Options
  57. dialog.  This test gives you a quick and easy way to configure
  58. your sound device for use with Melody Maestro.

  60. If you change your system configuration in a way which may
  61. affect Melody Maestro, the program detects this and runs Sound
  62. Device Auto-Configure again, automatically.

  66. 3) Program Installation

  69. Melody Maestro does very little in modifying your current
  70. Windows environment. The Setup program adds one simple 
  71. line to your Win.ini file:

  73. MMS=C:\maestro\maestro.exe ^.mms
  74.  
  75. A MAESTRO.INI file will also be created in your Windows 
  76. directory when Melody Maestro is installed.

  78. In addition, Melody Maestro installs support for SCORE(tm)
  79. music generation system.  SCORE will create a subdirectory
  80. under your Windows directory called SCORE and will add the
  81. following files to your Windows directory:

  84. SCORE.HLP
  85. SCORE.INI
  86. SCORE.TML
  87. SCORETCK.TCK

  89. For more information about installed files, an INSTALL.LOG text
  90. file is written to the directory where Melody Maestro is

  99. The Blue Ribbon Connection.  This service is free to all
  100. REGISTERED users of Blue Ribbon products.  To join The Blue
