- CanvasMan User Manual
- Printing Instructions
- February 1994

-
- Word for Windows 6.0 Version
-
- The WinWord version of the CanvasMan User Manual is on CompuServe's
- MIDIFORUM (library 11) as CMDOC.ZIP. The WinWord version also comes
- as a self-extracting archive on shareware CanvasMan disks as
- MANUAL.EXE. Unarchiving either file produces this text 'read me' file
- and the CANVAS.MAN file.
-
- CANVAS.MAN is a WinWord file formatted for a duplexing printer (e.g.,
- HP LaserJet IIID). It is formatted for offset printing such that the
- title page is the first page and the License Agreement and Warranty
- Disclaimer prints on the back side of that page.
-
- You should not have to change the Page Setup options if you print to
- 8.5"x11" paper, but here they are: MARGINS: mirror margins=yes,
- top/bottom margins=0.5", inside (left) margin=0.75", outside (right)
- margin=4.5", gutter=0", header=0.5", footer=0.3"; PAPER SIZE: letter,
- orientation=landscape.
-
- For best results, use a LaserJet IIID or better with "Dithering" set
- to "Line Art". Print with "Short Edge" duplexing.
-
- CANVAS.MAN does not contain the sunglassed Beethoven cover page.
-
- You will see several strangely formatted hidden sections. Don't
- worry; WinWord does not print hidden sections by default, so your
- printed output will come out fine. These sections exist because they
- do appear (on purpose) in the text version that installs with the
- shareware version of the program.
-
-
- HP LaserJet IIID Version
-
- The LaserJet IIID version of the CanvasMan User Manual is on
- CompuServe's MIDIFORUM (library 11) as CM3D.ZIP. Unarchiving the file
- produces this text 'read me' file and the CANVAS.3D file.
-
- To print the CanvasMan User Manual, enter the following DOS command:
-
- COPY /B CANVAS.3D PRN
-
- Note: if your printer is not compatible with the LaserJet IIID, the
- above command will generate reams of wasted paper.
-
- The file should also work on any non-duplexing LaserJet III or above,
- but you'll have to get creative with reinserting the paper, etc., to
- get an official 'duplex' manual.
-
- Notes: If you print the document on a duplexing printer, chop 4" off the
- right side to get the 7"x8.5" final document size. If printing the manual
- and cutting off the margins seems like a hassle (like it does to me when I
- make a prototype!), you can order the professional manual from me directly.
- See the program's order form for details.
