  6. Thank-you for purchasing Visual Arranger for Windows.  This file contains the latest
  7. information, corrections and addendum's for your version of the program.  Please read
  8. this file and the "getting started" section of the manual before proceeding.  Also,
  9. make sure that you send in your customer registration card included in the package -
  10. that way you are sure to be kept up to date on the latest breaking news regarding
  11. Visual Arranger and more!

  14. About VARRANGE.INI File:
  15.  
  16. Visual Arranger will automatically create a Preferences file called "VARRANGE.INI"
  17. in the "WINDOWS" Directory. This file will include preference information about the
  18. Option menu ("Preferences" and "MIDI Setup" commands), the Information Bar
  19. (on/off), Disk/Favorite Style Group setups, and desktop placement of each Window.

  21. To initialize all settings, delete the "VARRANGE.INI" file. The next time you open
  22. the Visual Arranger application, a new Preferences file will be created.

  25. About the Style File Directory:
  26.  
  27. Each Style file belongs to a specific Style Group, and Style files must be placed in
  28. the Style File Directory for proper recognition and use by the Visual Arranger
  29. application.  Do not change the Style File Directory name, or the application will
  30. not be able to locate the Style files.

  33. About MIDI Tone Generator Setups:
  34.  
  35. Set the "MIDI Setup" (Option menu) for your MIDI tone generator according to the
  36. following options:

  38. "GM Level 1"
  39. --Drum Bank will not correspond

  61. For Sound Card User:

  63. Always make sure that you use MIDI mapper when utilizing FM.  This will insure that
  64. the proper voices are selected for playback.  If you still do not have proper playback,
  65. please call technical support.

  68. Trouble Shooting:
  69.  
  70. (1) Everything is working fine and my tone module is playing - but it just doesn't
  71. sound right.
  72.  
  73. Make sure that your tone module is General MIDI or "GM" compatible.  The easiest 
  74. way to make sure is by the GM logo on the front of the unit.  If it isn't GM compatible
  75. it will not be voiced properly for Visual Arranger.

  77. (2) The program loaded fine, but I have no sound.
  78.  
  79. Besides checking the obvious (power, volume etc....), make sure that the proper MIDI
  80. Driver is "selected" to Visual Arranger. See the Visual Arranger owners manual for
  81. more details.

  83. (3) When I try to run the other application with Visual Arranger, I cannot run because
  84. insufficient memory error occurs.

  86. Quit Visual Arranger and run the other application first, then run Visual Arranger.
