I like to use Telnet to play games like MultiTrek, but you can also access all kinds of great databases, like the Space Telescope daily reports. To take a look at today's report, all I have to do is to double-click on the NCSA Telnet application on my hard disk to start Telnet. Go to the File menu and select Open Connection so I can type in the address. space.telescope.org I click connect and then I log in using the public username report.
