  10. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  12. The MONKEY ISLAND ROLAND UPGRADE requires an IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2, Tandy or 
  13. compatible with CGA, EGA, MCGA, VGA or Tandy 16-color graphics; 640
  14. and a hard disk drive. You'll also need either a Roland MT-32 Sound Module
  15. or a Roland LAPC-1 Sound Card with appropriate connections, amplifiers and
  16. loudspeakers.

  18. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  19.  
  20. 1. Make sure your Roland equipment is properly connected to your
  21. computer and sound system. Refer to Roland's documentation for details.
  22.  
  23. 2. Enter the directory in which you have installed your MONKEY game files.
  24. For example, if your MONKEY files are in a directory called MONKEY, type
  25.  
  26.     cd \monkey
  27.  
  28. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.
  29.  
  30. 3. Insert the upgrade disk into floppy disk drive A, type
  31.  
  32.     copy a:*.*
  33.  
  34. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER. This will copy all of the files
  35. from the upgrade disk into your game directory.
  36.  
  37. TO PLAY THE GAME
  38.  
  39. 1. Enter the directory in which you have installed your MONKEY game files.
  40. For example, if your MONKEY files are in a directory named MONKEY, type
  41.  
  42.     cd \monkey
  43.  
  44. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.
  45.  
  46. 2. Check once more to be sure that your Roland MT-32 or LAPC-1 is
  47. properly connected to your computer and sound system!

  49. 3. To begin the game, type
  50.  
  51.     monkey r
  52.  
  53. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.

  55. IMPORTANT NOTE
  56.  
  57. "Save game" files made while playing MONKEY with Roland sound are NOT
  58. compatible with save files made without Roland sound. Don't try to load
  59. into your system save files made on a non-Roland system. Also, do not load
  60. the save files YOU make into a system without the same equipment.
