  11. nicht ganz aktuell.

  13. Bei Corel Linux hatliegen in Bezug auf die Installation von VMware einige
  14. Links sehr unguenstig. Das Bash-Script 'fix_corel' behebt die Probleme.
  15. Fuehren Sie es bitte als 'root' in einem Terminalfenster (!!!) aus.

  20. INSTALLING/UPGRADING

  22.   To install/upgrade VMware for Linux, run the program "vmware-install.pl".
  23.   You must have super user privileges (i.e. be logged as root) to run it.
  24.  
  25.      ./vmware-install.pl
  26.  
  27.   If you are installing VMware for the first time, you can hit the <enter> key
  28.   each time you are prompted to select the factory default answer. By default,
  29.   the installation program installs:
  30.        the executables         in /usr/bin,
  31.        the manual pages        in /usr/man,
  32.        the library files       in /usr/lib/vmware,
  33.    and the documentation files in /usr/doc/vmware.

  35.   If you have previously installed VMware, you can hit the <enter> key each
  36.   time you are prompted to keep your previous answer, or you can decide to 
  37.   submit a new answer.

  39.   Once the installation/upgrade is complete, you can safely remove the
  40.   vmware-distrib directory from your system.

  42. CONFIGURING
  43.  
  44.   In order to run correctly, VMware must first be configured.
  45.  
  46.   To configure VMware, run the program "vmware-config.pl" (this is
  47.   automatically done for you at the end of the installation/upgrade
  48.   process if you answer "yes" to the last question)

  50.      vmware-config.pl
  51.  
  52.   This will teach VMware how to run on your current Linux kernel.
  53.   If you reboot your machine with a new kernel that VMware doesn't know yet
  54.   (because, let's say, you have upgraded your Linux system), you will have
  55.   to run this configuration program again. Then, VMware will know this new
  56.   kernel once for all.

  59. UNINSTALLING

  61.   To remove an existing installation, run

  63.      vmware-uninstall.pl
  64.  
  65.   The uninstall process will delete all installed files, and will backup the
  66.   files that have been modified since they have been installed.
