  1. Unnecessary Roughness '96 Patch - 5 January 1996.
  2.  
  3. Now that you have the patch file unzipped, copy or move all the 
  4. unpacked files to the directory into which you installed UR96
  5. (usually C:\UR96PC>). 
  6.  
  7. In DOS (or MS-DOS Mode) change to that directory and type 
  8. "ur96patc" <enter> to install the patch files. You will get 
  9. a message onscreen indicating that the patch has been installed. 
  10.  
  11. If you had had trouble getting sound, type "setup" <enter> and 
  12. manually set up your sound card choice, employing your correct 
  13. sound settings (port, DMA, IRQ). SoundBlaster 16-compatible cards
  14. will often get better sound if you choose "SoundBlaster Pro".

  16. After saving and exiting, type "ur96" <enter> to launch the game. 
  17.  
  18. Note: This patch also repairs the "scrunched" or compressed video
  19. problem seamlessly. With the patch, the user will no longer be 
  20. required to employ shareware to fix the problem.

  22. If you lose sound after installing the patch, go through the 
  23. setup again and manually select your sound card choice and your 
  24. correct sound settings.
