  5.                           HOW  TO UPDATE YOUR FILES:

  7.  1) Insert the update disk into appropriate floppy drive. Type the drive 
  8.     letter containing the update disk, followed by a colon and {Enter}.  
  9.     Example  A: {Enter} 
  10.  
  11.  2) Type: COPY  *.*  C:\SL  (If using a directory other than C:\SL then type 
  12.     that directory in) 
  13.  
  14.  3) Type the SL hard drive letter followed by a colon and press {Enter}.  
  15.     Example  C: {Enter} 
  16.  
  17.  4) Your game has been updated !

  19. * NOTE: For Star Legions Game Help, type HELP, which will display most 
  20.         commonly asked technical questions.

  22.                        PROBLEMS  FIXED IN THIS VERSION:
  23.  
  24. - Lockups when accepting planet surrender.  Limited problem happening
  25.   only in certain machine setups and depending on game events.
  26.  
  27. - Phasers that fire outside the FOV (field of view).
  28.  
  29. - Lockups during door opening sequence before mission briefing.  Only happens
  30.   on certain machine setups.
  31.  
  32. - Adds memory check for systems having less than 570K w/PC Speaker or
  33.   582K w/Sound Blaster. 
  34.  
  35. -  When zone cannot be bombarded (because of status green or yellow), a torp
  36.    will fire (one taken from supply) and a hit appears on the city, then the
  37.    abort message. Should check and abort before weapon is fired.
  38.  
  39. -  Zone status remaining yellow even after all Krellans are gone from zone 
  40.    (data says 0 units and 0 firepower). This also caused the "Krellans in zone 
  41.    - command aborted" when attempting to bombard one of these cities.
  42.  
  43. -  When PltData is up on Orbit Control screen and you press the deselect ships
  44.    button, black dots of the orbit erasure appear on the alien picture.
  45.  
  46. -  Also fixes the problem when you bombard a city and extra cities appear
  47.    all over the place and the game is messed up.

  51.             FOR PLAYERS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH INSTALLING SL:

  53.     Below are instructions for doing the manual installation of SL,
  54.     for those players unable to install the game.
  55.  
  56.     1) Type in letter of desired hard drive followed by a colon and
  57.        press {Enter}.  Example: C: {Enter}
  58.  
  59.     2) Type:  CD \
  60.  
  61.     3) Type:  MKDIR \SL
  62.  
  63.     4) Type:  CD \SL
  64.  
  65.     5) Type: MKDIR MBK
  66.  
  67.     6) Type: MKDIR VOC
  68.  
  69.     7) Place update disk in floppy drive and copy file DCMP.EXE to 
  70.        hard drive.  Example,  COPY A:DCMP.EXE
  71.  
  72.        Copy the DCMP.EXE file to the Star Legions subdirectories.
  73.        Type:
  74.        COPY DCMP.EXE \SL\MBK
  75.        COPY DCMP.EXE \SL\VOC

  77.     8) Copy all compressed game files from all disks:

  79.        For 3 1/2" Disk users:

  81.        Insert Game Disk #1 and copy the MBK.CMP file to the Star Legions 
  82.        subdirectory MBK.

  86.        From Disk #1 copy the DIF.CMP file to the Star Legions directory.

  99.        From Disk #3 copy the MOV.CMP to the Star Legions directory.

  103.        Insert Disk #4 and copy the VOC.CMP file to the Star Legions

  110.        Insert Game Disk #1 and copy the MBK.CMP file to the Star Legions

  115.        From Disk #1 copy the DIF.CMP file to the Star Legions directory.

  123.        Insert Disk #2 and copy the VOC1.CMP to the Star Legions

  128.        From Disk #2 copy the MOV.CMP to the Star Legions directory.

  132.        From Disk #2 copy the VOC.CMP file to the Star Legions

  137.        From Disk #2 copy the DIF2.CMP file to the Star Legions directory.

  141.     9) Decompress the files in the SL directory.
  142.        Type:
  143.        DCMP E SL.CMP
  144.        DCMP E DIF.CMP
  145.        DCMP E MOV.CMP
  146.        DCMP E DIF2.CMP  (only for 5 1/4" Disk users)

  148.    10) Remove the compressed files and DCMP program from the SL directory.
  149.        Type:
  150.        DEL *.CMP
  151.        DEL DCMP.EXE
  152.  
  153.    11) Change to the Star Legions subdirectory MBK.
  154.        Type:
  155.        CD MBK
  156.  
  157.    12) Decompress the MBK.CMP file.
  158.        Type:
  159.        DCMP E MBK.CMP
  160.  
  161.    13) Remove the DCMP program and MBK.CMP files.

  163.        DEL MBK.CMP
  164.        DEL DCMP.EXE

  166.    14) Change to the Star Legions directory.

  170.    15) Change to the Star Legions subdirectory VOC.

  174.    16) Decompress the VOC files.

  176.        DCMP E VOC.CMP

  179.    17) Remove the DCMP program and *.CMP files.

  182.        DEL DCMP.EXE

  184.    18) Change to the Star Legions directory.

  188.    19) Run Config to set machine configuration.

  192.    20) After configuration is done then Star Legions is ready to play.
