  14. 1. INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
  15.    Unzip the file and copy all the unzipped files into your
  16.    NCAA2 Directory.

  20. A. S3 chipsets are now supported (often found on Diamond Cards).
  21. Select S3 from the video card list in the SETUP program.  Diamond
  22. also uses the Cirrus Logic chipset on some of its cards.

  24. B. Computer opponent will only foul with under 30 seconds left in the game.
  25.  
  26. C. In-bounding player will no longer receive an assist.  This alleviates the
  27. center getting a high number of assists.

  40. Modem settings: 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity at speeds up to
  41. 14,400 baud. To use the BBS, you will need to set up an account at
  42. sign-on. To receive an account number, you will need to have a
  43. Warranty Card on file. On the BBS, you may post messages and
  44. questions, or receive demos or updates, 24 hours a day.

  47. ("Bethesda" e-mail Bethesda01), Compuserve  ("Go GAMAPUB" Sec. 10,

  50. change and Users should reference Bethesda's own BBS for the latest

  55. 4. YOUR VIDEO CARD
  56.  
  57. The one problem you may have when trying to run NCAA2 is getting your
  58. video card configured correctly.  NCAA2 has two modes - standard VGA
  59. and Super VGA.  When you install, NCAA2 will try to detect your video
  60. card.  If it cannot detect your card, it will set NCAA2 for LoRes
  61. (standard VGA).
  62.  
  63. If you have a SuperVGA video card with at least 512K, you can run
  64. NCAA2 in HiRes (Super VGA).  If you do not have a card that is
  65. directly supported by  NCAA2 for HiRes, you can still run in HiRes by
  66. selecting VESA for your video card (see the trouble shooting guide in
  67. the manual addendum).  To run in VESA mode you must first install a
  68. VESA driver that is specific for your card.  This driver is usually
  69. included on a disk that came with your video card or computer.  If
  70. you do not have the VESA driver for your card, you should contact
  71. your video card manufacturer to get the latest one.

  73. NCAA2 also comes with a utility that will load a generic VESA driver
  74. for many popular cards.  To load this VESA driver, type UNIVESA at
  75. the C:\NCAA2 prompt.  YOU MUST LOAD A VESA DRIVER BEFORE RUNNING
  76. NCAA2 IN VESA MODE.

  78. You can run the game in LoRes if you cannot get the game running in
  79. HiRes, or if the game runs too slow on your computer in HiRes (we
  80. recommend at least a 486 and a fast video card for HiRes).

  87. 5. TEAM LOGOS
  88.  
  89. Each team in NCAA2 has a set of logos attached to it.  There are three
  90. logos for each team:
  91.  
  92.   LoRes Logo:  used when playing in LoRes, for picking teams, etc.
  93.                (XX.dat)
  94.   HiRes Logo:  used when playing in HiRes.  (XXhr.dat)
  95.   Court Logo:  used for the center court graphic.  (XXcrt.pcx)

  97. If you wish to create your own team, you may also want to assign that
  98. team a new logo.  You can view/change a team's logo by pressing
  99. ALT-F1 at the EDIT TEAM screen.  This will pull up a message stating
  100. the logo number NCAA2 is using for that team.  You can type in a new
  101. logo number in the message box and the team will now use that logo
  102. number.

  104. Below is a list of all the logos included with NCAA2.  If you wish to
  105. create a logo that is not included, look on our BBS (301-990-7552)
  106. for the utility that will create *.dat files from *.pcx files (for
  107. the HiRes and LoRes logos).
