  4.         Thank you for purchasing Machiavelli the Prince.  This disk contains
  5. the latest update.
  6.

  8. HOW TO INSTALL
  9.  
  10.         To install the update, use the following instructions:
  11.  
  12.     1)  Place the update disk into the appropriate drive (A: or B:)
  13.  
  14.     2)  Log onto that drive (A: or B:)
  15.  
  16.         3)  Type UPDATE [drive] [path]
  17.             For example:  type UPDATE C: MPS\PRINCE  (please note the SPACE
  18.             between the drive and the path - if you have changed the
  19.             default directory of C:\MPS\PRINCE, you must change the above
  20.             path)
  21.  
  22.     The update will then install itself.

  25. COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS
  26.  
  27. Machiavelli may experience compatibility problems with SMARTDRV.EXE write
  28. cache.  If you are experiencing lock-ups during a game, disable SMARTDRV.EXE
  29. write cache.  Consult your manual.
  30.  
  31. The autosave feature may cause problems in some systems.  If you are
  32. experiencing graphical distortions or lock-ups during the save, disable
  33. the autosave feature.

  36. FIXES
  37.  
  38. 1) The multi-player security password capabilities have been fixed.
  39.  
  40. 2) The continuous payment for an Assigned Post (pressing "Cancel" when asked
  41.    to verify the usage of money allotted) at the End of Turn has been fixed.
  42.  
  43. 3) An AI lock-up that occurs during the computer's turn has been fixed.

  45. 4) An AI lock-up that occurs in the beginning of a new game after the
  46.    completion of an old game has been fixed.
