  15. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  16.  
  17. The LOOM ROLAND UPGRADE requires an IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2, Tandy or 100%
  18. compatible with CGA, EGA, MCGA, VGA or Tandy 16-color graphics; 640K RAM;
  19. and a hard disk drive. You'll also need either a Roland MT-32 Sound Module
  20. or a Roland LAPC-1 Sound Card with appropriate connections, amplifiers and
  21. loudspeakers.

  23. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  24.  
  25. 1. Make sure your Roland equipment is properly connected to your
  26. computer and sound system. Refer to Roland's documentation for details.
  27.  
  28. 2. Enter the directory in which you have installed your LOOM game files.
  29. For example, if your LOOM files are in a directory called loom, type
  30.  
  31.     cd \loom
  32.  
  33. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.
  34.  
  35. 3. Insert the upgrade disk into floppy disk drive A, type
  36.  
  37.     copy a:*.*
  38.  
  39. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER. This will copy all of the files
  40. from the upgrade disk into your game directory.

  42. TO PLAY THE GAME
  43.  
  44. 1. Enter the directory in which you have installed your LOOM game files.
  45. For example, if your LOOM files are in a directory named loom, type
  46.  
  47.     cd \loom
  48.  
  49. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.
  50.  
  51. 2. Check once more to be sure that your Roland MT-32 or LAPC-1 is
  52. properly connected to your computer and sound system!

  54. 3. To begin the game, type
  55.  
  56.     loom r
  57.  
  58. at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.

  60. THE OVERTURE
  61.  
  62. The Roland version of LOOM includes a two-minute musical overture not
  63. available in any other version. You can override the overture and proceed
  64. directly to the game at any time by pressing the ESC key.
  65.  
  66. IMPORTANT NOTE
  67.  
  68. "Save game" files made while playing LOOM with Roland sound are NOT
  69. compatible with save files made without Roland sound. Don't try to load
  70. into your system save files made on a non-Roland system. Also, do not load
  71. the save files YOU make into a system without the same equipment.
