- 1.0 SOUND CARD PROBLEMS
- -----------------------
-
- If you are experiencing lock-ups while playing Lucky's Casino Adventure,
- this is probably due to some sort of sound card conflict. If you have a
- Sound Blaster or compatible card, you may not have the IRQ or the Base Address
- at the default setting.
-
- There is a utility on Disk One called SBDETECT.COM. This utility will tell
- you the settings of your card. Once you know the settings, run Lucky's
- Casino with the following command-line parameters:
-
- LCA /bBaseAddress /iIrqNum
-
- So if your Sound Blaster or compatible card was at Base Address 260H and
- IRQ 2H, you would use:
-
- LCA /b260 /i2
-
- You only have to do this the first time you run Lucky's Casino Adventure.
- After that, the program will remember the settings.

-
- 2.0 VESA VBE 1.2
- ----------------
-
- Lucky's Casino Adventure should run without any modification to your
- system on most computers. However, with a few video adapters the game may
- need a VESA driver. Most video cards will come with drivers either built into
- their hardware or on software. If you haven't got a driver for your card,
- contact the manufacturer. You may also be able to find a driver on
- CompuServe or in the VESA directory on Lucky's Casino Adventure disk #4.
- We have provided drivers for most of the major video card manufacturers.
-
- 1.1 Which type of video card do I have?
-
- If you are unsure of which type of video card is in your system, there are a
- couple of ways to find out. The easiest is to reboot your computer and watch
- for the manufacturer's message to be displayed. If this doesn't work, try
- this:
-
- From the DOS sub-directory, type DEBUG [enter].
-
- At the '-' prompt, type: D C000:0 [enter] and then type D [enter].
-
- Manufacturer information for your video card should be displayed on
- the right side of the screen. To quit from DEBUG type Q [enter].
