  4. 1. To install the additional features of HiOctane, run the program
  5.    install.exe. It accepts a command line parameter which specifies 
  6.    where the files are contained. For example, if the files are 
  7.    in the directory hio_rev (the default), type install hio_rev.
  8.    Notice that the data files must be put in a directory.
  9.  
  10. 2. For your information, the install program copies the following
  11.    files to the directories listed below, overriding some of the
  12.    original files:

  46. 3. The Sound Options menu is now in the Details Options Menu.

  48. 4. Split Screen Single Race. Now, you can play a two-player game even 
  49.    without a network. Depending on the speed of your computer, you may 
  50.    want to turn off the details options to make it go faster. In the split 
  51.    screen race, the panels of the top player and the bottom player can be 
  52.    switched on or off by the keys Alt-T and Alt-U respectively.

  54. 5. Clone Race. In clone race, you race against the ultimate time trial
  55.    opponent - yourself! The computer creates a clone of your car, 
  56.    programmed with you best ever lap, ready for you to race. You can try
  57.    to better that lap time, or challenge a friend to play against your
  58.    own virtual car. You best lap in each track (in clone races) is saved 
  59.    automatically. Toggle on the Use Saved Best Clone Lap to use the 
  60.    previously best lap.

  62. 6. Death Match. The Death Match is played out in one of the main tracks,
  63.    including Track 9: Death Match Arena, which is designed specifically
  64.    for death match race. The idea is to blow the pants off your opponents
  65.    using a set number of lives. The slider bar of Death Match Lives menu 
  66.    set the number of Death Match lives. Set it to zero for infinite lives.

  68.    Hint: Find a place to hide and ambush your opponents, or just zip out 
  69.    into the open and take them out in a blaze of glory. The map in the
  70.    bottom right corner is removed so that you will not know where others
  71.    are hiding.

  73. 7. Hot Seat. The Hot Seat is a game played with up to eight players using
  74.    a single machine. While one player controls his car, the computer 
  75.    controls all of the others; and after a pre-arranged time (the duration
  76.    can be set shorter or longer with the Hot Seat Racing Time slider bar
  77.    in the Hot Seat Options) the computer takes control of the current 
  78.    car, the view changes to the next player and the next player takes over.
  79.    The number of players in the Hot Seat Race can be set by the slider bar
  80.    Hot Seat Racing Time in the Hot Seat Options menu.

  82.    P.S. You may want to change the names of all the players. This is now
  83.    possible by using the Change Name menu.

  85. 8. You can now change the camera to external view by pressing Y. However,
  86.    you will not be able to control your car in the external view. Press Y
  87.    to change it back to the trailing camera view.

  89. 9. In the split screen, we've got some new key controls.
