  4. HOW TO INSTALL THE UPGRADE
  5.  
  6. DISK UPGRADE
  7.  
  8. If the update came to you on disk, just insert the disk into your disk drive
  9. and run the program update.exe. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
  10.  
  11. Note for Win95 users: to run the program you can press Start on the task bar
  12. then select Run.... In the panel that appears type in the drive letter, a
  13. slash (\) and update.exe (e.g. a:\update.exe) - then hit OK.
  14.  
  15. Note for Windows 3.1x users: to run the program you can start File Manager,
  16. press the floppy drive icon (usually a) and double click on the  update.exe
  17. program listed in the Window.

  19. DOWNLOADED UPGRADE

  21. If you got the update by downloading it, just copy the single file into the
  22. same directory that you installed Grand Prix Manager in and decompress the
  23. ZIP file using PKUNZIP.
  24.  
  25. NEW FEATURES

  27. During the race:
  28. - if you press the Position button, the race is paused and the cars number
  29. appears. If you now click on the race track the number will change to the
  30. position you are currently in, clicking again on the race track toggles you
  31. back to the car number.

  33. To re-start the race just click on the depressed Position button. This will
  34. help you identify where the car in front of you is.
  35.  
  36. - a letter representing the tyre type (W for Wet, A for Compound A etc.) now
  37. appears in front of the tyre rating on your control panel.

  39. ALTERATIONS

  41. We have made the current top teams dominate their less well funded opposition
  42. even more.

  44. Have reviewed all of the components (Car Internals, Car Externals, Driver Aids
  45. etc.) and adjusted their importance to make it more obvious to the player the
  46. importance the item has.

  49. strategy during wet weather races.

  51. To help you get started in the world of sponsors, we have made one of the
  52. smaller companies be willing to commit to you straight away.

  55. occasionally appearing without any text and a little GPM car icon not
  56. appearing on the Win95 task bar).

  61. Unfortunately some, like getting the game to run in higher colour depth, such
  62. as true colour mode, rather than 256 colour mode,  are not possible because
  63. of technical limitations, but we will keep these and other comments in mind
  64. for future games.
