  1. FLEET DEFENDER GOLD VIDEO PATCH
  2. -------------------------------
  3. This patch file is for users who have been experiencing the 
  4. 'unable to open d:\fleet.avi' type errors. This is normally caused
  5. by an older version of Video For Windows being present on the system
  6. The FLEET DEFENDER GOLD install program will not correctly overwrite 
  7. these files. To install this patch, please follow these steps:-
  8.  
  9.  1) RUN WINDOWS AND THEN ENTER FILE MANAGER
  10.  2) GOTO YOUR WINDOWS\SYSTEM DIRECTORY
  11.  3) MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR SYSTEM.INI FILE
  12.  4) EXIT FILE MANAGER AND EXIT TO DOS
  13.  5) GO TO YOUR WINDOWS\SYSTEM DIRECTORY (e.g CD WINDOWS\SYSTEM)
  14.  6) TYPE COPY A:IR32.DLL
  15.  7) TYPE EDIT SYSTEM.INI
  16.  8) LOOK FOR THE SECTION CALLED [drivers]
  17.  9) ADD THE FOLLOWING LINE:-   vidc.iv31=ir32.dll
  18. 10) SAVE THE FILE AND EXIT
  19.         The video segments should now work properly.
  20.

  22. instructions.
