- ABOUT THE STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE: HARBINGER PATCH
- v1.1, 5-6-96
-
-
- In the version 1.0 release of the game, some customers have experienced
- problems with the mouse "sticking." We have addressed these problems in
- an .exe patch. When you install the patch, it will replace the version
- 1.0 executable (deep.exe) with an updated version, 1.1. If you want to
- preserve your v1.0 deep.exe, rename it or move it to another directory
- before installing the patch.
-
- To install the patch, copy the file, ds9v11.exe, into your game directory
- (usually c:\ds9harb). Now type:
-
- ds9v11 <enter>
-
- This will automatically install the new deep.exe. If you have not renamed
- or moved the old executable, the program will ask you if you want to
- overwrite the existing file. Answer "y".

- v1.1 RELEASE NOTES
- Although ds9setup program successfully detects most video cards, sometimes
- cards based on the S3 chip set work better using the VESA BIOS EXTENSIONS
- (VBE) selection. If you have a video card which has the S3 chip set on
- it, and if your mouse still does not move smoothly after you have
- installed the v1.1 patch, you may want to re-run the setup program.
- To do this, switch to your game directory (usually c:\ds9harb), and type
-
- ds9setup <enter>
-
- then select "Video Card Configuration". When the list of video cards
- appears on the screen, use the cursor keys to move the highlight down to
- "VESA BIOS EXTENSIONS (VBE)", then press enter. Follow the on-screen
- instructions from there. If the test picture looks okay, then the VESA
- selection should work correctly for the game itself.
