  1. Applying the shareware DOOM patch:

  3. *NOTE: THIS PATCH ONLY WORKS WITH SHAREWARE DOOM VERSION 1.666. IT WILL
  4. NOT WORK WITH ANY OTHER VERSION.
  5.  
  6. 1. Erase the current shareware DOOM directory completely and start
  7. with a clean install of shareware DOOM 1.666. This will make sure
  8. there are no problems patching due to modified wad files or a modified 
  9. DOOM.EXE. 
  10.     
  11. 2. Unzip the file "PATCH.ZIP" into the shareware DOOM directory.
  12.  
  13. 3. Change to the shareware DOOM directory (if you are not already there).
  14.  
  15. 4. Type "PATCH"
  16.  
  17. 5. After the patch is complete the message "Batch file missing" will
  18. appear. Ignore it.
