  12.     The files on this disk (or archive) will patch all the files
  13.     necessary to update Darklands version 4 or version 5 to version 5.1.
  14.     Darklands must be installed on your hard drive before this update 
  15.     can be applied.
  16.  
  17.     The updating process makes a copy of the file to be modified,
  18.     patches the copy then deletes the old copy. This means that there
  19.     must be sufficient disk space to make a copy of the largest file to
  20.     be updated. This file is DARKLAND.EXE, size 1.6M. Therefore it is
  21.     suggested that you have at least 2.1M free space before you start the
  22.     updating process.
  23.  
  24.     To apply the update do the following:
  25.  
  26.     1) Copy UPDATE.EXE and PATCH.RTP to the Darklands directory. It
  27.        will be C:\MPS\DARKLAND if you accepted the default case at
  28.        installation time. 
  29.  
  30.     2) Type UPDATE followed by the ENTER key
  31.  
  32.        The updating process will begin. It takes 5 to 20 minutes 
  33.        to apply the patches for version 4 and 2 minutes for version 5.
  34.  
  35.     3) Once the update is complete, feel free to delete UPDATE.EXE and
  36.        PATCH.RTP.
