  9. This disk is the first update disk for Dawn Patrol (3.5" Floppy & CD-ROM).
  10. The update includes the following -

  12.   1. A Faster Universal Driver;
  13.   2. More High Speed Graphic Drivers;
  14.   3. Bug fixes.

  24. 1. The Faster Universal Driver
  25. ------------------------------
  26. The Faster Universal Driver can be used to display the SVGA graphics on a 
  27. 60MHz (or faster) machine.  The speed of this new driver can be effectively 
  28. increased by reducing the detail level on the Preferences screen.
  29.  
  30. 2. More High Speed Graphic Drivers
  31. ----------------------------------
  32. These extra drivers include a #9 128 bit and two new Trident models.

  36. These include Flightstick Pro fixes.

  49. There are two versions of the update on this disk - 
  50.   
  51.   1. INSTALPC.BAT (For the 3.5" Floppy and FULL CD-ROM Installation); 
  52.   2. INSTALCD.BAT (For Minimum, Normal and Large CD-ROM Installations).  
  53.   
  54. Before you use either version, you should delete your SAVEGAME file by typing 
  55. the following -

  57.   CD\  <return>
  58.   CD PATH\SAVEGAME  <return>
  59.   DELETEME  <return>

  74. 1. Ensure the update disk is inserted into a floppy drive.
  75.  
  76. 2. Type INSTALPC followed by the hard drive and path names.  For example, 
  77.  
  78.   INSTALPC C:\GAMES\DAWNPTRL  <return>
  79.

  81. 3. If Dawn Patrol has not previously been installed, or the file PATROL.EXE 
  82. does not exist in the directory, the installation program will stop and give 
  83. an error message.

  85. 4. If the correct syntax has been used for INSTALPC and you have specified a 
  86. legal path, then the update will begin.  It should only take a few moments.

  88. 5. After the installation is complete, it is essential that you re-run 
  89. SVGATEST and PATROL ?.

  94.                     Update Disk Installation Instructions 
  95.                  (For MINIMUM & NORMAL CD-ROM Installations)

  97. 1. Ensure that the Dawn Patrol CD-ROM is inserted into a CD-ROM drive.
  98.  
  99. 2. Type INSTALCD followed by the hard drive and path name where Dawn Patrol is 
  100. installed, followed by the CD-ROM drive name; for example:
  101.         INSTALCD C:\GAMES\DAWNPTRL D:
  102.  
  103. 3. If Dawn Patrol has not previously been installed, or the file PATROL.EXE 
  104. does not exist in this directory, the installation program will stop and give 
  105. an error message.
  106.  
  107. 4. If the Dawn Patrol CD-ROM is not in the CD-ROM drive you specified, the 
  108. installation program will stop and give an error message.
  109.  
  110. 5. If the correct syntax has been used for INSTALCD and you have specified a 
  111. legal hard drive, path and CD-ROM drive name, then the update will begin.  
  112. It should only take a few moments.
  113.  
  114. 6. After the installation is complete, it is essential that you re-run 
  115. SVGATEST and PATROL ?.

  118. 3. The New Universal Driver
  119. ---------------------------
  120. 1. If you are using the new, Faster Universal Driver ensure that the necessary
  121. address/parameter is located after your expanded memory manager in your
  122. CONFIG.SYS file -
  123.  
  124.   for EMM386 and 386MAX     -     I=A000-AFFF
  125.   for QEMM386               -     VREMS
  126.

  130. 2. To speed up the Faster Universal Driver even further we recommend that you 
  131. reduce the detail level from the Preferences screen.
