- ---- ALIEN LOGIC README ----
- v1.02 3/8/95
-
- IMPORTANT NOTES:
-
- * The Cleash Commander/null jig tokens crash bug has been fixed
- in this version.
-
- * New command line options have been added that may help running the game
- with sound on some sound boards.
-
- COMMAND LINE OPTIONS:
-
- /? Help
- /f Fast mode
- /g Fix for some Gateway systems that lock during CD music.
- /h Displays Help.
- /k Kill redbook music from CD early if crash occurs when music
- attempts to repeat. Usage: alien /k3 kills CD music 3 seconds early.
- /m Disallow CD music, but don't disallow sound.
- /r Restart CD music from scratch (use this if CD music doesn't always
- come back).
-
- /s:SILENT tells sound/music drivers that you have no sound card
- (CD music still plays)
- /s:SM2 tells sound/music drivers you have a Sound Master installed
- /s:SBLASTER tells sound/music drivers you have a Sound Blaster installed
- /s:MICRO tells sound/music drivers you have Microsoft sound card installed
- /s:PAS tells sound/music drivers you have PAS sound card installed
- /s:GRAVIS tells sound/music drivers you have Gravis sound card installed
- /s0 tells sound/music drivers to disable sound effects
- /x disable all sound and music
-
- Running with the /G option may cause occasional mouse disruptions.
-
-
- EXAMPLES:
-
- ALIEN /K50 <Enter>
- Start Alien Logic. Restart CD tracks 5 seconds before they would naturally
- end. This switch may be necessary when the game is run on certain
- CD-ROM drives.
-
- ALIEN /R
- Tells CD music to restart from scratch rather than continuing from where
- it left off. This is necessary on some CD rom drives that do not follow
- published standards.
-
- ALIEN /S:SBLASTER
- Starts Alien Logic, forcing the sound and music drivers to recognize your
- sound card as a Sound Blaster. This is useful if you have problems with
- sound or music.
-
- Example of combined command line options:
- ALIEN /R /S:SBLASTER
- Restart music from the beginning of tracks and force recognition
- of Sound Blaster.

- Chapter 37 - Ardoth and Its Environs
- Section 93B - On the Quality and Availability of Ardothian Social Services
- Subsection XP-41 - Hospital Services
- Part XIV - A Recollection of the Details of a Conversation Held With a Local
- Bronth Healer:
-
- From what I could ascertain, it appears that said healer is highly skilled in
- treating a large variety of wounds and injuries. However, it should be
- remembered that said healer is incapable of diagnosing the complete extent of
- a patient's injuries. The healer will always attempt to offer aid, even if
- such aid is incapable of assisting the patient in any way, given the more
- advanced state of said patient's wounds. By consulting the Mountain Crown
- Human Biology Injury Tracking Chart, one can see that first aid will only heal
- injuries of the light green sort, medication will heal injuries rated at an
- orange level or lower, while surgery will heal all wounds of any sort.
-
- Travelers should be reminded that all healing services are rendered upon
- request. Payment for services rendered is exacted regardless of the
- effectiveness of said services.
