  2. The following instructions will explain how to install the config.exe file 
  3. which will allow you to override the smart start installation and manually 
  4. choose the options for your system. This is not a guaranteed fix, but it has
  5. been very successful.
  6.  
  7. Type in only what is shown in [brackets]. DO NOT INCLUDE THE BRACKETS. 
  8.  
  9. **Hard Drive Installation:
  10. 1> Start up your computer normally and go to a C> (or C:\>)
  11. 2> Go to the drive where the program is installed (D>, E>, etc.). If the 
  12.    program is installed on the C drive, go to step 3.
  13. 3> Type [CD DYNAMIX] and hit the ENTER key.
  14. 4> Type [CD {dirname}] (dirname=the directory name such as A-10, DRAGON, etc.)
  15.    and press the ENTER key. Do not include the {brackets}.
  16. 5> Put the disk containing the config.exe file in the A or B drive.
  17. 6> If the disk containing the config.exe file is in the A drive, type 
  18.    [COPY A:CONFIG.EXE] and hit the ENTER key. If it's in the B drive, type 
  19.    [COPY B:CONFIG.EXE] and hit the ENTER key.
  20. 7> Type [CONFIG] and hit the ENTER key.
  21. 8> Choose the options for your system. You should now have the correct 
  22.    graphics and music when you run the program.

  25. **Floppy Drive Installation:

  27. **Single Floppy Drive:

  29. Type in only what is shown in [brackets]. DO NOT INCLUDE THE BRACKETS.

  31. First make a backup of your program disk #1.
  32. 1> Insert the disk containing the config.exe file into the drive.
  33. 2> Type [COPY *.* B:] and hit the ENTER key.
  34. 3> You will get a message saying "Insert diskette for drive B and strike any
  35.    key". 
  36. 4> Take the disk out and put the backup Disk #1 of the Dynamix program in the 
  37.    drive, and hit any key.
  38. 5> At the A> type [CONFIG] and hit the ENTER key.
  39. 6> Choose the options for your system. You should now have the correct 
  40.    graphics and music selections when you run the program.

  43. **Dual Floppy drives (2, 3.5" drives or 2, 5.25" drives):
  44.  
  45. First make a backup copy of your program disk #1.
  46. 1> Insert the disk containing the config.exe file into drive A.
  47. 2> Insert the backup disk #1 of the Dynamix program into the B drive.
  48. 3> Go to an A> (or A:\>) and type [COPY CONFIG.EXE B:] and hit the ENTER key.
  49. 4> Type [B:] and hit the ENTER key.
  50. 5> Type [CONFIG] and hit the ENTER key.
  51. 6> Choose the options for your system. You should now have the correct 
  52.    graphics and music when you run the program.

  55. **Dual Floppy Drives (1, 5.25" drive and 1, 3.5" drive):
  56. **Backup program disk #1 in drive A and the music driver disk in drive B:
  57.  
  58. First make a backup copy of your program disk #1.
  59. 1> Insert the disk containing the config.exe file into drive B.
  60. 2> Insert the backup disk #1 of the Dynamix program into the A drive
  61. 3> Go to an B> (or B:\>) and type [COPY CONFIG.EXE A:] and hit the ENTER key.
  62. 4> Type [A:] and hit the ENTER key.
  63. 5> Type [CONFIG] and hit the ENTER key. 
  64. 6> Choose the options for your system. You should now get the correct 
  65.    graphics and music when you run the program.

  67. **Backup program disk #1 in drive B and the music driver disk in drive A:
  68.  
  69. Follow the instructions above for Dual Floppy drives (2, 3.5" drives or 2,
  70. 5.25" drives)

  72. **To print this file, type [TYPE SAVEREAD.CFG >PRN] and hit the ENTER key.**
