  20.                U.S.A. Software License Agreement 
  21.  
  22. NOTE:  This form of Software License Agreement applies only to
  23. products purchased in the United States.  If you have purchased
  24. this product in any other country, please refer to the applicable
  25. form of Software License Agreement enclosed in the package
  26. containing this software.
  27.  
  28. Grant of Rights
  29. This software program, including any documentation and media
  30. (Software) is protected by copyright laws and international treaty
  31. and is a proprietary product of WordPerfect Corporation (WPCorp).
  32.  
  33. WPCorp grants you the right to use the Software in the quantity and
  34. on the platform(s) indicated on the enclosed Certificate of
  35. License.  If this Software is an upgrade from a previous version of
  36. a WPCorp software product, you may utilize either the current or
  37. prior version of the Software, but never both versions at the same
  38. time.  This Agreement supersedes any prior version license and
  39. governs your use of the Software.
  40.  
  41. For a single-user computer or workstation not attached to a
  42. network, or for a network server,  the Software is considered "in
  43. use" when any portion of the Software is either loaded in memory or
  44. virtual memory (Loaded) or stored on a hard disk or other storage
  45. device (Stored).  For single-user computers or workstations
  46. attached to a network, the quantity of the Software "in use" is
  47. considered to be the greater of (i) the maximum number of computers
  48. on which the Software is Loaded at any one time, or (ii) the
  49. maximum number of computers on which the Software is Stored.  
  50.  
  51. On a multi-user computer, the quantity of Software "in use" is
  52. considered to be the maximum number of sessions executed at any one
  53. time.
  54.  
  55. You may make copies of the written documentation which accompanies
  56. the Software in support of your authorized use of this WPCorp
  57. software product.  You may also make an archival copy of the
  58. Software for each License obtained under this Agreement.
  59.  
  60. Restrictions
  61. You may not rent or lease the Software without the written
  62. permission of WPCorp.  You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse
  63. engineer, copy, create a derivative work, or otherwise use the
  64. Software except as stated in this Agreement.  Irrespective of the
  65. number of sets of media included with the Software, you are granted
  66. the right to use the Software only in the quantity indicated on the
  67. Certificate of License.  Certain qualifications may apply to the
  68. purchase of this Software; when present, they are printed on the
  69. Software package and form part of this Agreement.
  70.  
  71. Home or Portable Computer Provision
  72. You are authorized to use a copy of the Software on a home or
  73. portable computer, as long as the extra copy is never Loaded at the
  74. same time as the Software is Loaded on the primary computer on
  75. which you use the Software.
  76.  
  77. If you have purchased this Software under an education or
  78. charitable institution pricing program, you may not create an extra
  79. copy of the Software under this provision for use on a home or
  80. portable computer.
  81.  
  82. Limited Warranty/Limitation of Liability
  83. This Software is licensed AS IS.  If for any reason you are
  84. dissatisfied with the Software, return the product package, with
  85. proof of purchase, to your reseller within 90 days of the date of
  86. purchase for a full refund.  If any materials or media in this
  87. package are defective, return them to WPCorp within 90 days of the
  88. date of purchase, and they will be replaced at no charge.

  90. This warranty is in lieu of any other warranties, express or
  91. implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and
  92. fitness for a particular purpose.  In no event will WPCorp be
  93. liable to you for damages, including any loss of profits, lost
  94. savings, or other incidental or consequential damages arising out
  95. of your use of or inability to use the Software, even if WPCorp or
  96. an authorized WPCorp representative has been advised of the
  97. possibility of such damages.

  99. Some jurisdictions do not allow excluding or limiting implied
  100. warranties or limiting liability for incidental or consequential
  101. damages, and some jurisdictions have special statutory consumer
  102. protection provisions which may supersede this limitation.  As a
  103. result, this limitation of liability may not apply to you if
  104. prohibited by the laws of your jurisdiction.
  105.  
  106. Customer Support
  107. WPCorp will attempt to answer your technical support requests
  108. concerning the Software; however, this service is offered on a
  109. reasonable efforts basis only, and WPCorp may not be able to
  110. resolve every support request.  WPCorp supports the Software only
  111. if it is used under conditions and on operating systems for which
  112. the Software is designed.
  113.  
  114. General
  115. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, void,
  116. or unenforceable, then that provision shall be severed from this
  117. Agreement and will not affect the validity and enforceability of
  118. any of the remaining provisions.  This Agreement shall be governed
  119. by the laws of the State of Utah.
  120.  
  121. US Government Restricted Rights
  122. The Software and any accompanying materials are provided with
  123. Restricted Rights.  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the
  124. Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph
  125. (c)(1)(ii) of The Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software
  126. clause at DFARS 252.227-7013, or subparagraphs (c)(1) and (2) of
  127. the Commercial Computer Software--Restricted Rights at 48 CFR
  128. 52.227-19, as applicable.  Contractor/manufacturer is WordPerfect
  129. Corporation, at the address below.
