  1.                            PADLOCK  Version 1.04

  3.       Installation of PADLOCK is very simple. Copy the PADLOCK.exe and P.bat
  4. files from the distribution disk to your hard drive.  Place the files in a
  5. directory that is in the PATH.  To check your path type PATH and press return.
  6. You should see something like this:

  8.                           PATH=C:\;C:\DOS;C:\WP51       
  9.  
  10.       This indicates that there are three directories in the PATH. You can 
  11. copy the PADLOCK.exe and P.bat files to any of these directories. C:\DOS
  12. is a good location.  
  13.  
  14.       If you wish to have PADLOCK protect your machine at start-up then you
  15. will want to add the following command as the first line in your AUTOEXEC.bat
  16. file:
  17.                              C:\DOS\PADLOCK
  18.  
  19.       Give the complete path for the location of the PADLOCK.exe file due to
  20. the fact that the PATH has not yet been set.  The PATH command is located 
  21. later in the AUTOEXEC.bat file.

  23.       Once the AUTOEXEC.bat file has been adjusted and saved, reboot your
  24. computer by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL all at the same time. When the AUTOEXEC file
  25. is run it will start PADLOCK first. You will be ask to enter and verify a 
  26. password. From that point on PADLOCK is available at any time by typing P and 
  27. pressing return as well as at start-up.

  29.       The command line switches for PADLOCK are as follows:

  31.                   /?    will give a help and information screen
  32.                   /R    will remove the hidden password file
  33.                   /P    will allow you to change the password
  34.  
  35.       Example:   PADLOCK/?   for help and information screen.

  38.       PADLOCK is SECURITY WITH SECURITY.  When you resgister PADLOCK with 
  39. JUDSOFT be sure to include with your $15.00 registraton fee, your name and 
  40. address along with a bit of information that you will remember. I recommend 
  41. your mothers maiden name.  Be sure to include what the information is so I 
  42. know what to ask you.  You will receive a phone support number when you   
  43. register with JUDSOFT.
