  8. Echo      THIS PROGRAM IS NOT A GAME.  It is a very serious security program
  9. Echo      for protecting a disk.  When activated, it "locks" a disk and
  10. Echo      makes all files on a disk seem to disappear.  DO NOT RUN THESE
  11. Echo      PROGRAMS CARELESSLY.

  13. Echo      UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you attempt to use these programs
  14. Echo      to lock a disk until you have read the introductory material in
  15. Echo      the User Guide. If you lock the disk containing The Guardian
  16. Echo      programs and have not made a backup copy, you cannot get to the
  17. Echo      necessary program to unlock the disk, and your data will be
  18. Echo      permanently lost!

  20. Echo      When you have uncompressed the files, run the UPDATE.BAT file.
  21. Echo      It will display the file, UPDATE.TXT, which contains information
  22. Echo      which supplements the documentation in USER.DOC.  Do NOT NOT NOT

  30. Echo      If you have downloaded this product electronically, IT IS VERY
  31. Echo      IMPORTANT that you copy at least the compressed file GUARDIAN.EXE
  32. Echo      to a diskette before doing anything else.  If the programs are in
  33. Echo      a sub-directory and you lock the disk, you cannot get to the
  34. Echo      program(s) to unlock it.

  36. Echo      Whenever a program asks for an "authorization" it is asking for a
  37. Echo      valid password.  If you have an original distribution copy of The
  38. Echo      Guardian, it should have one password assigned by default.  That
  39. Echo      password is "guardian" - without the quotes and all lower case
  40. Echo      letters.
