  2.  FILE, Introduction
  3.  
  4.  The FILE   commands   allow  previous  parts  of  models  to  be
  5.  retrieved and  stored,   and  it  implements    the    interface
  6.  between QD2D and QD3D, in the form of TX2 files.
  7.  
  8.  The FILE  commands are  used to  read  files  into  the  current
  9.  working area,  write the current drawing to a file, or just view
  10.  or tidy files.
  11.  
  12.  With the  FILE commands, there may be two commands selected from
  13.  secondary menu, rather than the last command being selected from
  14.  tertiary menu.  This is  the same  as the file commands in QD2D.
  15.  For example  FILE READ  TEXT has FILE selected fron primary menu
  16.  and READ TEXT from secondary menu, in that order.

  18.  If the  user wishes  to create  a new  file to write a part or a
  19.  view to,  then, having  selected FILE  WRITE  PART/VIEW,  choose
  20.  KEYBOARD from  the bottom  of the tertiary menu that flashes up.
  21.  Type in the new file name and QikDraw will open a new file to be
  22.  written to.  Another way  this KEYBOARD option can be used is in
  23.  accessing files  in other  directories. If  the full pathname of
  24.  the file  to be read or written is typed, then that file will be
  25.  accessed an processed in the usual way.

  28.  "FILE READ TEXT"
  29.  
  30.  There are  two kinds  of text  files; the  TX2 file  and the Tx3
  31.  file. Tx2  files are  transferable between QD2D and QD3D. If the
  32.  user wishes  to pass  a sub-drawing  to QD2D for plotting or any
  33.  other purpose, then a Tx2 file is selected.
  34.  
  35.  A text file contains information for one part, and when read in,
  36.  that part is displayed on the screen.
  37.  Procedure
  38.  .   Confirm if reading a Tx2 or a Tx3 file.

  44.  This command  allows the  user to  read a part from a file. This
  45.  part is  not considered  as one  element as in SUB ADD. If, when
  46.  the part  was first  stored, it  contained parts,  then it still
  47.  contains parts, separate entities.

  56.  During the  execution of QikDraw, the user may wish to store the
  57.  current view table of the drawing. This command allows for this.
  58.  Procedure
  59.  .   Select a location in tertiary menu to store the view.

  62.  "FILE WRITE TEXT"
  63.  
  64.  This command is used to write a drawing to a text file.
  65.  
  66.  If the  user  is  in  perspective  view  when  this  command  is
  67.  selected, then all curves, circles and arcs will be converted to
  68.  lines and  points when  written to  the text  file.  It  may  be
  69.  necessary to change the current tolerence so that these entities
  70.  have enough sides to be drawn at a satisfactory resolution.
