  6. This is the READ.ME file for TurboDLD v1.0. It contains
  7. information that has changed or is different from the Installation
  8. Guide, as well as some other useful tips.

  11. Important:

  14. This version of TurboDLDClassic only supports Cirrus Logic VGA graphics 
  15. boards. Support for any other EGA, VGA, 8514/A, TIGA, S3, XGA, 
  16. or Compaq QVision graphics board may be obtained directly from 
  17. Panacea Inc.
  18.  
  19. The following boards are supported at their respective maximum 
  20. resolution and pixel depth.

  31. I - TIPS/ERRATA/FEATURES/REVISIONS
  32. ============================================================

  34. - Rendering Resolution options will be available only when
  35. configuring a Rendering device, not directly from the Graphics
  36. Board/Resolution Menu as indicated in the Installation Guide.
  37. Rendering options will appear when AutoCAD R12's AVE Render
  38. is first configured or when configuring 3D Studio or AutoShade.
  39. It      may be necessary to reconfigure AVE Render by using the
  40. RCONFIG command at the AutoCAD command prompt.
  41.  
  42. - For AutoCAD R12 setup, when installing TurboDLD Deluxe into a 
  43. subdirectory other than \ACAD\DRV, you must edit the ACADDRV 
  44. environment variable to point to the TurboDLD sub-directory.
  45. For example, if TurboDLD Deluxe was installed into a sub-directory
  46. on drive C: named TURBODLD, the ACADDRV environment variable would
  47. look like the following:
  48.     SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD\DRV;C:\TURBODLD
  49.  
  50. - When running at greater than 8 bits-per-pixel (256 colors),
  51. setting physical colors via DLDCOLOR will have no visible
  52. effect until an SAVE and EXIT occurs.
  53.  
  54.  
  55. - There is no longer a Remove or Overwrite mode for the Display
  56. List. TurboDLD functions as the Remove mode did in previous DLD
  57. versions, eliminating flashing of erased vectors, without affecting
  58. performance.
  59.  
  60. - The BPCACHE is normally disabled, not enabled as is indicated in
  61. the Installation Guide. Enabling BPCACHE will only make a noticeable
  62. performance difference when using TIGA-based graphics boards.
  63.  
  64. - For those persons with low CPU RAM and less than 20mb of available hard
  65. disk space you should use the -SWAPCHK ON switch to configure AutoCAD. 
  66. This switch will give you the option of saving your drawing when AutoCAD
  67. starts to run out of disk space.   The way you configure this is to change
  68. into your AutoCAD program sub-directory and at the prompt type:
  69.         CFIG386 ACAD -SWAPCHK ON

  71. What if I Have Problems?
  72. ========================

  74. If you encounter a problem with TurboDLD, please try to
  75. duplicate, and document, the steps required to reproduce it.
  76. As you document the problem, list your current system
  77. configuration, including video board, resolution, number of
  78. colors configured, etc. Also, if possible, try to duplicate
  79. the problem with an AutoCAD sample file so that we can
  80. easily try to re-create the problem on our equipment. To contact
  81. technical support, refer to Appendix A in your "TurboDLD Installation
  82. Guide".

  118. If you use AutoShade 2.0 or 3D Studio, you know that your display options
  119. are rather limited.
