  6. Standard Install (Recommended installation) -- Use Standard Install if you do 
  7. NOT want to indicate where and which files to install on your hard drive. 
  8. Standard Install installs all WordPerfect 5.2 for OS/2 program, shared program, 
  9. help, graphics, Button Bar, keyboard, macro, style library, conversion, 
  10. utility, speller, and thesaurus files into the appropriate directories on your 
  11. hard drive.  This option requires 16M of disk space.

  13. Custom Install -- Use Custom Install to indicate where and which file groups 
  14. (listed previously in Standard Install) to install.  With this option, you can 
  15. indicate where to install additional or updated printer files. 
  16.  
  17. Network Install -- Use Network Install to install WordPerfect 5.2 for OS/2 on a 
  18. network or to install files from a network onto a network workstation. 
  19.  
  20. Minimum Install -- Use Minimum Install if you need to install only the program 
  21. and shared files necessary to run WordPerfect 5.2 for OS/2.  This option 
  22. requires 4.5M of disk space.  You can install additional files later using 
  23. Custom Install.

  33. The CUA (Common User Access) keyboard is a standard OS/2 keyboard.  Choose this 
  34. option if you use other OS/2 applications and you want to use the same 
  35. keystrokes for certain functions.

  37. The DOS WordPerfect 5.1 keyboard uses many keystrokes similar to WordPerfect 
  38. 5.1 for DOS.  Choose this option if you are accustomed to WordPerfect 5.1 for 
  39. DOS.

  48. to use, what the display resolution is on your monitor, and whether to use a

  52. updated printer files for installation.

  54. Language -- Use the Language option to install additional language modules, 
  55. such as Speller and Thesaurus, with the program files.  Indicate where you

  59. README files that contain information about WordPerfect 5.2 for OS/2 not 
  60. included in the printed or online documentation.  (You can view the README

  93. NOT want to install.  All file groups are selected to be installed when you 
  94. begin.

  128. Note:  Install the shared program files on the same root drive as, but in a 
  129.        separate directory from, the WPOS/2 files.

  133. Before WordPerfect is used on the network, secure files that are critical to 
  134. the operation of WordPerfect.  By granting read-only rights (or the equivalent) 
  135. to key files, users may access and read the files without modifying them, 
  136. thereby avoiding the possibility of file damage.  (See README.NET for more 
  137. information.)

  144. Confirm the type of monitor you are using.  The Install program automatically 
  145. detects what type of monitor you are using and highlights the appropriate 
  146. selection for you.

  169. Provide your return address, your software license number, the name of your 
  170. printer, and the size of your disk drive (3.5" or 5.25").

  172. If you have a modem, download printer files from the WordPerfect BBS at (801) 
  173. 225-4414.  The modem service is available 24 hours a day.  To use the 
  174. WordPerfect BBS, set your modem to 1200 or 2400 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 
  175. and 1 stopbit.

  182. Server -- Use the Server option to install WordPerfect 5.2 for OS/2 on a 
  183. network.

  185. Workstation -- Use the Workstation option to download previously installed 
  186. network files to your workstation.  The Workstation option lets you set up the 
  187. WordPerfect folder, containing the WordPerfect icons, readme files, and 
  188. document templates, on the network or on each workstation.

  190. Printer -- Use the Printer option to indicate the location from where you want 
  191. to copy the additional printers to where you want the copies. 
  192.  
  193. Readme -- Use the Readme option to view README files containing information NOT 
  194. in the printed or online documentation.  (You can view the README files later 
  195. in WordPerfect.)

  197. Sufficient Rights and Disk Space

  199. Before installing, make sure you have sufficient rights or privileges to the 
  200. drive where you are going to install WordPerfect.  For example, you should be 
  201. able to copy, rename, write, delete, read, and create files.  At least 16M of 
  202. disk space is necessary for a network installation.

  206. The total number of WordPerfect copies in use on the network should not exceed 
  207. the number printed on your Certificate of License.

  211. If you have not done so, map a search drive to the WordPerfect program 
  212. directory.  Only one search drive is needed to run WordPerfect on NetWare.

  241. The Installation Program creates an environment file for each WordPerfect for 
  242. OS/2 product (for example, WP{WP}.ENV, FM{FM}.ENV, SP{SP}.ENV, QF{QF}.ENV). 
  243. Environment files contain startup options that let WordPerfect for OS/2 
  244. products operate as networked software.  The WP{WP}.ENV file, for example, 
  245. contains the following after a network installation:

  265. the Thesaurus files with the language module.  The Thesaurus files will be 
  266. installed with the language module if there is a check in the check box.

  318. number, only one user will be able to use WordPerfect at one time.
