ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Picture Viewer ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Picture Viewer displays and prints metafiles (.MET) and picture interchange
format files (.PIF).  You can also display a spool file (.SPL), as long as the
file contains a picture in the standard OS/2 format.  Select Save as to save
the currently displayed picture into a file.  You can also cut or copy a
picture to the clipboard, and paste the picture from the clipboard to the
current window.  A picture file can be obtained from the command line, the Open
File window, or the clipboard.

You can zoom in or zoom out a picture once it is displayed in the Picture
Viewer window.  Move the pointer to the portion of the picture you want to zoom
in, then double-click mouse button 1.  The picture can only be zoomed 5 times.
Once the picture is enlarged, scroll bars become available for you to view the
portions of the picture that are not displayed in the window.  To zoom out the
enlarged picture, press the Shift key and double-click mouse button 1.

Some pictures might contain text that is created with a non-scalable font.
Pictures are scaled to fit the window so the appearance of text created with
non-scalable fonts might not display correctly.  You must adjust the size of
the window or zoom the picture to view the text in the original scale.

Use File to display, save, and print picture files that have .MET or .PIF
extensions.  You can also display and save spool file (.SPL), as long as the
file contains a picture in the standard OS/2 format.

Select Open to display picture files that have .MET, .PIF, or .SPL extensions,
in the current Picture Viewer window.

and filename you specify.  You also can replace the picture in an already

clipboard.

You can select a file from the Files field or any combination of the Drives,
Directories and Files fields to determine the picture file you want to be
displayed in the Picture Viewer window.  Another way to specify the picture
file you want to view is to type its path and filename in the Filename field.
Then select Open.  You can select up to 50 picture files to be displayed in a
sequence.

Use this field to specify the drive where the picture is located. If not all
the available drives are visible in the Drives field, drag the scroll box in
the scroll bar to display them all; then select the drive you want.

Use this field to select the directory, on the drive, where the picture file is
located. If not all the available directories are visible in the Directories
field, drag the scroll box in the scroll bar to display them all; then select

Use this field to select the picture file you want to display in the Picture
Viewer window. If not all the available files are visible in the Files field,
drag the scroll box in the scroll bar to display them all; then select the file

Use this field to select the way you want to display a sequence of pictures.
Select the Interactive radio button to manually control the sequence.  Select
the Automatic radio button to automatically display the pictures at specific
time intervals.  If more than one picture file is selected the Interactive
display option is the default.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Help for Delay Time ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Use the Delay time field to set the amount of time that elapses between
pictures.  The default time is set to 5 seconds.  You can set the delay time to
elapse from 1-999 seconds.

Select *.MET to display a list of metafiles in the Files field.  (All metafiles
have .MET as a file extension.)

Select *.PIF to display a list of picture interchange format files, in the
Files field.  (All metafiles have .PIF as a file extension.)

metafiles have .SPL as a file extension.)

Use this field to specify the drive, directory and file name of the picture
file you want to display in the Picture Viewer window.  You can type the path
and file name in the Filename field.  If you select a directory or file name,
or both, from the other fields, the selection you make is displayed in the
Filename field.

Select Open to display the file you specified.

Use this field to type the drive, directory and file name you want to save the
currently displayed picture.  To save a picture file over an already existing

This lists all country code pages for which a picture interchange format file
(.PIF) could have been created.  Select the code page for the country of origin

Use this field to select a country of origin of the picture interchange format
file (.PIF).

Select this check box to specify whether or not to use the EBCDIC
representation of text in the .PIF file.  An X in the check box means that
EBCDIC representation is selected.

The following is a list of the shortcut keys for the Picture Viewer:

Ctrl+O
       Displays the Open File window.
Ctrl+S
       Displays the Save as window.
Shift+Print Screen
       Displays the Print window.
Shift+Delete
       Cuts the picture from the window and places it in the clipboard.
Ctrl+Insert
       Copies the picture in the window and places the copy in the clipboard.
Shift+Insert
       Pastes the picture or copy of the picture from the clipboard to the
       current a window.
Ctrl+F
       Displays the page following the current page of a multi-page picture.
Ctrl+B
       Displays the page preceding the current page of a multi-page picture.
Ctrl+N
       Displays the next picture in a sequence of pictures.
Ctrl+Q
       Cancels the sequence of pictures.

Select OK to send any changed information to the program and close the window.
