- The OS/2 Installation for Remote IPL will transfer all Operating System/2 files
- to the specified Remote IPL directory. The Source Directory and OS/2 Remote
- IPL Directory initially displayed are either default values or those which were
- used the last time OS/2 was installed for remote IPL on this machine. To
- change either of these directories, select the Change button associated with
- the appropriate one. Once the directories have been specified, select the
- Install button to proceed with the installation. To exit the installation
- program before installation has begun or once it has completed, select the Exit
- button.

- To change the source directory you may type directly into the entry field or
- select drives and directories from the given list.

- To use the list, highlight an entry to add it to the entry field or select an
- entry to expand it. This method will allow you to work your way down the
- directory tree.

- The source directory must be an existing valid OS/2 drive and/or subdirectory.
- OS/2 for remote IPL may not be installed from a subdirectory located on a
- floppy diskette. The root directory is the only valid directory when the
- source is a floppy diskette drive.

- To change the remote IPL directory you may type directly into the entry field

- Some of the errors encountered can be fixed concurrently in another session, in
- which case you may want to retry the operation. If you choose not to retry,
- you will return to the main installation window.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Transferring Files Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- This window will remain visible while files are being transferred to the remote
- IPL directory. The name of the current file being transferred is displayed.
- The progress indicator shows what percentage of the current diskette (or
- directory, if installing from a LAN drive) has been transferred so far.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Insert Diskette Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- This window will remain visible until the diskette with the correct volume
- label is inserted into the specified drive and OK is selected.

- Select OK to proceed to the main installation window.

- There was not enough disk space on the drive you selected to install OS/2 for
- remote IPL. If you continue without deleting any files the installation may
- fail.

- Select the OK button to return to the OS/2 command prompt or to the Desktop.
