  3. This is the TUNEREAD.ME file for the extended memory version of L-Edit 3.00. 
  4.  
  5. The tune.exe can be found in your L-Edit directory if you install the
  6. extended memory version of L-Edit.  This file is only needed if the protected
  7. mode kernel bound with L-Edit does not contain your machine type in its
  8. internal database.  If you get a message to this effect when you run L-Edit
  9. (by typing "ledit <return>" at the DOS command line, as usual), type the
  10. command
  11.                 tune -k ledit.exe
  12.  
  13. from your L-Edit directory.
  14.  
  15. This will run a number of tests on your machine and set up the machine BIOS
  16. information in L-Edit's kernel.  The nature of these tests is such that the
  17. machine might crash in the course of these tests.  In this event, just restart
  18. the tuning process as above, and the program will take up from where it left
  19. off.

  21. Since tune may crash the machine, it is advisable to save all critical RAM-
  22. resident information before running tune.
