- This file contains instructions for installing the device drivers for using
- the Applied Data Systems VectorScan RISC Video Board with OrCAD.
-
-
- 1. Important Files:
-
- 1. ADS.DOC - This file.
- 2. ADSLOAD.EXE - Loads micro-code into RISC.
- 3. ADSORCAD.COM - Micro-Code for RISC processor (Download before use)
- 4. ADS.DRV - OrCAD Display Driver for use with: SDT, PCB and VST
-
- 2. Overview
-
- The VectorScan board contains a CPU and program memory as well as video
- memory. This allows for the downloading of software that customizes for
- different applications. ADS has developed different downloadable programs
- for different applications. These programs must be downloaded by a batch
- process developed by ADS before the main application can use the board.
- The download prior to using any particular application must occur after
- power-on or after a download for some other application.
-
-
- 3. Instructions for loading VectorScan RISC drivers for OrCAD.
-
- PRIOR TO EXECUTING OrCAD code, run the ADSLOAD program using the following
- command line:
-
- ADSLOAD ADSORCAD
-
- This will download the RISC based software to the memory on the
- VectorScan. OrCAD code can now be executed in the normal fashion. If you
- are using only OrCAD applications with the vectorScan, you will probably
- want to do it as part of your AUTOEXEC.BAT. If you are using other
- applications for which drivers are downloaded to the ADS board, you may
- have to do this download as part of the invocation of OrCAD products.
-
- To use the VectorScan RISC with OrCAD, the file ADS.DRV should be
- installed as your OrCAD driver in accordance with the directions for
- installing OrCAD drivers.
