-
- (c) 1991 PROTEL TECHNOLOGY PTY LTD
-
-
-
- This program allows you to translate EDIF (OrCAD), SCHEMA and PADS-PCB
- format netlist files into Protel Netlist format.
-
-
-
- The following files are included with this program:
-
- 2NET.EXE the netlist modification program
- 2NET.MNU menu/strings file for 2NET
- TRANS.TXT a translation file
-
-
- EDIF (OrCAD) netlists
- The EDIF file must be created with pin numbers, the following command lines
- will create a correct EDIF file from an OrCAD Schematic file using OrCAD's
- netlist program:
-
- annotate src.sch src.ann
- netlist src.ann src.net edif /a /p /s
-
- The options used are:
- a indicates use of an annotation file
- p outputs pin numbers rather than names
- s outputs special EDIF format
-
- SCHEMA netlists
- These can be translated by 2NET without modification.
-
- PADS-PCB netlists
- A translatable netlist can be created by saving the '.JOB' file as a '.ASC'
- file. Make sure that the sections included in the '.ASC' file include the
- *PARTTYPE*, *PART* and *ROUTE* sections.
-
- Running the 2NET utility
-
- To start the translator, type:
-
- 2NET and press RETURN;
-
- You will be prompted to supply:
-
- The source file name and extension (including Path, if any);
-
- The destination file name (including Path, the extension .NET will by
- automatically appended to the filename and need not be specified);
-
- The format: PADS, SCHEMA or press RETURN for EDIF.
-
- Or, you can include these options in the command line by typing:
-
- 2NET <sourcefile> <destination> <format> [/q]
- the press RETURN to run the translator.
-
- The option q turns off progress reporting during translation.
-
- The translator file (TRANS.TXT) allows 2NET to change the package type to
- be the correct one for the Protel libraries. The translator file has the
- following format:
-
- <theirname_1>,<Protelname_1>
- <theirname_2>,<Protelname_2>
- .
- .
- <theirname_n>,<Protelname_n>
- <format name>
- <theirname_1>,<Protelname_1>
- <theirname_2>,<Protelname_2>
- .
- .
- <theirname_n>,<Protelname_n>
-
- This file can be added to and modified quite easily. The names are case
- sensitive. The file is made up of sections.
-
- The first section prior to any <format name> is common translations, these
- translations will be used for any of the formats. The following sections,
- delimited by <format name>, are format specific translations. There can be
- only one section for each format.
